Advantages: Smells beautiful. Leaves hair shiny and sleek.

Disadvantages: Can be quick thick, will leave hair fuller (may be an advantage to some!)

I tried this 'Vibrant Colour' conditioner by Herbal Essences after seeing the memorable advert for the brand - the one where the woman in the shower is orgasmic over the smell of the product! I had also been told by a pal that it smelled great. I have used this conditioner alongside the Silk N' Shine shampoo for dry and damaged hair. This particular product is made for all coloured or highlighted Hair.

The 400ml sized bottle which retails at around £2 is a peachy orange colour and has a counterpart shampoo of the same colour. There is a picture of a yellow celandine on the front which alludes to the fact that one of the special added ingredients is celandine. The other are waterlily and peony. I am not entirely sure what benefits these have nor does it tell me on the bottle. There is a quirky little scrap of information which tells me that in herbal lore the peony was thought to be "an emanation of moonbeams"!

The bottle has a flip opening at the top. This top can be entirely screwed off if necessary. The top flicks open easily and snaps shut. I would recommend taping this top down if you intend to travel with a bottle. The dispensing nozzle is quite big and never gets bunged up.

The conditioner is white and has a glossy, glycerine appearance. It is thick and a little greasy. I need a flat palm of product to work through my long hair. I find that it is easy to rub into the hair shafts. It can immediately smooth hair and help to untangle it.

The aroma of the conditioner is very strong. The scent is fresh and fruity and similar to the smell of the other products in the range. It is an exotic and feminine smell. It is so powerful a fragrance that my whole upstairs will smell of it after use.

I find that it is easy to rinse out. It does leave my hair quite heavy at first, as though a lot of the product is left as residue on the hair shaft. During the style stage my hair feels managable though, although quite full. When my hair is dry is looks shiny and is soft and sleek, not fizzy. The smell of the product remains on the hair for up to a day after applying. I do not notice much enhancement of my colour but it definately soothes and smoothes over-dyed and over styled hair.

I'm very impressed by this afforable range by Herbal Essences will continue to use and recommend to friends.

Summary: An effective conditioner that leaves hair shiny and smelling wonderful.
