Advantages: easy & quick to apply, great price & good results

I'm in my 50s & have been colouring my hair now for about 8 years - it used to cost me around £80 at the hairdressers for colour & streaks - but the past few years I've been doing it myself to save money & a great deal of time.

To be honest I've stuck to L'Oreal (£9.99) but recently I spotted Clairol's Nice & Easy in Superdrug for £3.33 so decided to give it a try & I'm really pleased with the results.

I have naturally light auburn hair & find that I tend to have white rather than grey in my roots so I opted for 'Natural Golden Auburn' (108) which claims to give 100% grey coverage (found that white can be covered as well as grey!). There were loads of colours to choose from so I'm sure there would be something for everyone in this range although I must admit I wouldn't guarantee the colour on the box is exactly what you'll end up with on your hair.

On the front of the box there's a picture of a model which gives you an idea of colour & it tells me that the product is 'an expert blend of subtle tones for multi-tonal colour. Maintains your natural variation & shine'. On one side of the box it tells you exactly what's included, the other side gives you a colour match whilst on the back it tells us how the product works.

It's clearly stated that you should do a skin & hair strand test before applying & the usual cautions are given when using hair dyes of this type. There's a very clear leaflet inside which states how to use the hair colourant & it's in large enough print for me not to reach for my specs! (unlike some) & there are pictures to follow which are useful if, like me, you get easily confused.

I think the name suits this product - it IS nice & easy to use -
- pop the plastic gloves on
- prepare the solution (add contents of 1 bottle to another)
- apply from roots to tip
- leave 25 minutes
- rinse thoroughly
- apply conditioner.

I was very pleased with the results & will definitely use this again.
