Clairol Nice n' Easy
Advantages: covers greys, easy to use, nice colour
Disadvantages: left my hair feeling dry, smells really bad
My mum recently gave me a nice and easy permanent dye as she had one going spare and my greys were starting to show! I dont usually go for this brand but since it was going free I thought I would try it.
It comes in a simple looking white box, not as attractive as other hair dyes on the shelf but I suppose you should judge it by its packaging, but this is probably the reason why I have never picked it up and bought it before. Inside the box you get a set of instructions, a tube of conditioner, the colourant and the cream, oh and a pair of plastic gloves to protect your hands.
Its basically the same as all the other hair dyes out there, you add the colourant to the cream and shake the bottle well until it is all combined then add it to your hair. Leave for 24 minutes then rinse out, using the conditioner afterwards.
I have to say I am not really a fan of this hair dye and I wont be buying it again. Its a nice enough colour and it covered all my greys well enough, however I found the smell to be absolutely horrible. It smells much worse than other hair dyes, a bit like a dirty toilet - which I did not like at all. My other problem with this is that it left my hair feeling really dry, even though I used the conditioner afterwards. When I dried my hair it wasnt the usual shiny and soft feeling that I get after dying my hair using Garnier Nutrisse which is my usual choice.
Overall its an effective dye and does well to cover grey hairs and gives a nice colour, but the smell and the way it left my hair feeling afterwards means I wont be investing in this one ever again.
Summary: covers greys well but left my hair feeling dry
