Advantages: Easy to use, Good coverage

Disadvantages: Stinks!

Ok, so I'm getting old(er)and feeling frumpier, so yesterday I took the plunge and decided to colour my hair. It was either that or chop it all off! Choosing the lesser of the two drastic options, I opted for the colour.

I chose Nice n Easy because of the price - reduced in the local Co-Op to £4.95 and because I haven't coloured my hair for years I wasn't sure if it was going to work or not.

IT DID! I'm now the proud owner of dark burgundy hair and it was SO simple.

In the box, you get a pair of those naff plastic gloves, a bottle of colour, a bottle of developer lotion and a packet of conditioner. You simply add the colour bottle contents to that of the developr lotion, shake it up and away you go.

Unlike all the other hair colours that I've used in the past, you add this to your hair while it's dry. You then leave it on for around 20 minutes depending on how your hair is, rinse out and apply the conditioner, then rinse again and you're done.

A word of warning - I couldn't see anything in the instructions about this, but I had to open the bathroom door and window while I was applying it. It stinks like nothing I've ever smelt before to the point it was making my eyes water.

And the result? Well, I'm certainly happy with it. Because my hair is quite long and thick, I wasn't sure if it would 'take'. I had visions of patchy colour and having to cut it all off anyway to avoid looking like a disaster, but I was wrong. The coverage is pretty good, even though I only left it on for about 10 minutes or so.

I'll probably use it again at some point but leave it on for longer so I get a better tone of colour, but for now it'll do nicely.

Oh yes, and don't forget it's permanent!
