Feeling grey and frumpy

Yes I was feeling grey and frumpy, old and unbeautiful, needed a pick me up.

I do not colour my hair regularly as some do. Am not really fashion conscious, worried about my looks never have been.
I have coloured my hair in the past. When I was younger I used to henna it a wonderful auburn but henna is not recommended for grey hair.
I have used other colorants irregularly, never the same one.

I was in Tesco?s feeling frumpy so looked at the hair colours and choose Clairol nice and easy, level 3 ash blonde I thought the colour was about the same as, a little lighter than my natural colour. I did not want a radical change just to get rid of the grey and brighten my hair up a little lighter rather than darker or red a summery colour. Might go red or darker in the winter.

I got home read the instructions and did a sensitivity test .The instructions tell you to mix a little hair colorant and developing lotion and put a little on to your skin. They recommend inside your elbow and not to wash it off for 48 hours. Been cautious I did this .2days later yesterday I checked my sensitivity patch all was fine

I then proceeded to the bathroom put a dark towel around my shoulders, put on the plastic gloves provided .I mixed the colorant and developer gave it an extra shake.
I then squeezed some mixture onto my greyest hairs and rubbed it in well then proceeded to put lotion on the rest of my hair and work it in trying to get an even coverage. It was easy to add to my hair I did not make a mess of colour like I have done applying some other colorants in the bath got a little of colorant on my cheek it wiped of easily with a wet tissue. I did not like the smell from the colorant

I piled all my hair on top of my head I have below the shoulder long hair.Wrapped it in the towel and went downstairs had a cup of tea and waited about 35 minutes
Back upstairs to the bathroom added a little
water to my hair massaged it into a lather Then rinsed it with water until the water was clear I applied the conditioner which was provided in the packet and rinsed

I went downstairs with my hair drier and dried my hair I brushed then looked in the mirror the colour was not very different to my natural colour maybe a shade lighter and brighter. The grey was covered no grey hairs maybe lighter brown but not grey. My hair felt quite good and combed out easily. I pleased with the result.

I would probably use this again maybe a different colour next time.
