I was recommended the cloud nine spray by a friend who always uses it when curling her hair. I have regular battles with my hair when I want to curl it as it the curls just will not stay in and drop out quickly. It is frustrating as I sit wearing them for ages too. The spray is made and designed by Cloud Nine to use with heated rollers.
==Price and availability==
The cost of the spray is £12.99 and you can buy it from Salons around the country if they stock other Cloud Nine products. Cloud Nine has been compared to GHD because they both make premium hair hair styling products. You can buy this also on the internet for a similar price.
The spray comes in a stylish bottle with a push down stray cap and lid. It is a pump action spray rather than an aerosol and comes in a 140ml bottle. The product smells quite citrusy and fresh and feels quite sticky if you spray it into your hand.
To use the product you are supposed to section the hair and then spray the product on to it before wrapping the hair around the roller. One of the major problems I have is getting the hair to stay wrapped on the roller. I tend to curl my hair for a night out so I obviously want clean hair, thus showering beforehand. Clean hair and rollers do not get on well as it just falls off. My hair gets really soft when I wash it and quite fluffy so it can be a nightmare to get the curler to stay in. I was wanting a product to help the curler stick but all the other ones I have tried tend to be too sticky and set the curler in, making it hard to remove. When you spray this on a section of hair, it does not go sticky but it allows the hair to be fastened round much easier and it stays. I rather like the spray for this aspect and coupled with this it smells pretty good too. I find that spraying one small jet over a section of hair, gives it enough to help the curler stick without it making the hair too wet. Once you remove the rollers, the hair drops into nice curls which look smooth and shiny thanks to the spray. Heat does tend to dry hair out so you want a product that will look after the hair and keep it looking healthy.
When I first got the spray I tried to use it along and sprayed a fine mist over the finished style. Unfortunately it just is not powerful enough on my unruly hair and the curls still dropped out but they lasted much longer than without the spray. To get the best possibly results, I had to use this spray in conjunction with some hair spray as this controlled the curls even more.
I do believe that you need a product to spray on the hair before you curl it, it can protect it from the heat and keeps hair looking shiny and conditioned but it also helps the hair wrap around the roller more smoothly and quickly; this is certainly an advantage. I am not so sure if I would recommend it as I probably won't buy it again, I think I will try another product to see if I finally get something that does everything I want it to.
