Clynol REVIVE Repair Shampoo
by MEL0611 My hair is always causing me trouble. It is a problem in that I find my hair can be very unmanageable at times and it is a mixture of frizzy dry ends to the odd time when the roots will get greasy. I have tried so many different products to try and help balance my hairs look and the shampoo that I am going to be reviewing today is the ... Clynol Repair Revive Shampoo. I brought the shampoo under the recommendation of my hairdresser (I also brought the conditioner from the same range as well) as it is supposed to revive tired hair and get it 'on the road to recovery'. Here are my thoughts on the product. The Shampoo is one that you will not often find on the high street stores shelves, it is more of a professional hair care system and is one that you will find at your hairdressers or online at places like HQ Hair or Cheap Smells. There is the Clynol website itself but I find that the products are all that more expensive from here. The price that I paid for this shampoo was around the £4.49 mark and this was for the 300ml sized bottle. There are also the larger 1500ml bottles available; this does tend to be exclusive for salons though. The bottle looks very elegant and almost designer like, there is a definite classy look to the bottle in my opinion and I think that there is quite minimal packaging works really well with this design. The bottle is mainly white in colour and there is the Clynol logo on the front as well as the name of the shampoo. On the reverse of the bottle are details about the ingredients that have been used as well as directions for use. We are told by the Clynol brand that this is 'specially formulated with liquid keratin to repair and support hair that has had the moisture drained from it. I was slightly worried that the shampoo might leave my roots looking greasy and was wary of using too much. We are told that the results of using this shampoo are that it will leave your hair looking silky smooth with a clean and natural shine. To dispense the shampoo you just need to use the button at the top of the bottle. You need a small amount and mixed with rinsed hair you will soon form a rich lather of bubbles. There is an amazing smell, refreshing and slightly fruity to the shampoo (The same with the conditioner as well) and it is also really cleansing. The shampoo rinses out of your hair really well and it leaves it feeling great. I have nothing but praise for this shampoo, it is a great product that leaves hair not only looking great but feeling great as well. The results are clear as my hair is full of bounce and also has a good shine about it. The ends felt well moisturised without my roots being left greasy. I would be more than happy to recommend this shampoo and give it a 5 out of 5 Thank you for reading Read the complete review |

Clynol Vitton Go Blonde 12:22
by k444tmc I am hoping most site visitors to this page have come here because they are looking for an alternative colour / toner to the popular L'Oreal P02 - If so continue to read! :-) ********** If you have read any of my previous reviews you will see in the last couple of months I have taken it upon myself to start ... bleaching my hair at home rather than spend up to £70 at the hairdressers for something I can do myself at a (HUGEEE) fraction of the cost. Clynol Vitton Go Blonde range is a range of colours / toners which can be used after a bleach to give a more even colour or to make your hair go lighter. Its also essentially a great conditioning treatment and makes your hair feel a lot better in condition and gives you that shine that bleach can't. I came across the Clynol Vitton range when browsing in a newly opened salon supply store in my town a few weeks ago. My usual toner is L'Oreal Luo P02 but I was looking for something completely different to the norm - as much as I love the pastel tones that the Luo range offer in their colours, in the last few months I have noticed my roots still having ugly tinges of ginger which tells me for some reason it just isn't taking to my newly coloured roots as it should. After flicking through the colour chart book in the store, I opted for the 12.22 ( Ultra Light Intensive Extra Ash ) colour which showed a very light blonde shade with tints of grey - which is exactly what I wanted / what L'Oreal Luo didn't quite achieve. Generally I am aware Clynol is a great range - I often use a silver shampoo from them which works brilliantly but in honesty I have never coloured my hair with any of their products. I took the word of the shop assistant that these colours are great and I went home with a mixture of excitement but a bit worried as to whether it wouldn't work or something would go wrong with the colour... ********** Like many other toners and colours the Clynol Vitton range come packaged in a rectangular shaped cardboard box displaying the brand and range details on the front. To those who use normal hair dye products at home will feel a bit more at ease with the tube that comes inside - it looks like a normal tube that holds colour in a home hair dye kit. You simply twist off the lid, turn upside down and pierce the entrance to the tube. After bleaching your hair and drying off the excess water you can then get down to it and get some colour on straight away for best results. Like many other professional colours and toners the packaging does not offer a huge amount of information in terms of use other than the ratio to use - which is 1:1 for this range. In simple terms you squeeze the contents of the tube (60ml) into a plastic mixing bowl (not metal as the colours don't react well with this material) and mix with 60ml of cream peroxide. Considering the colour comes out like a paste and the peroxide is very watery in comparrison it can be very hard to work out exactly what 60ml of peroxide looks like. The best advice I can give is to find a bottle which measures 60ml in your household and use that for a better idea on measurments. I must also add you get different variations on peroxide strength and me personally, I never use higher than 20 vol / 6% to avoid huge damage to my hair. I use this strength when bleaching and using the colour afterwards. ********** In Use As if you were doing a full head bleach / normal colour you just use your brush to apply on to your full head - I normally start at the roots and spread to the tips using my hands - PRECAUTION : ALWAYS USE GLOVES FOR THIS BIT AS YOU ARE USING CREAM PEROXIDE ... Once your head is covered in the substance its quite thick to look at and doesn't drip like a lot of other colours. I simply roll my hair up into a clip when its in and I can still get on with other jobs around the house not being worried it will stain anything. Obviously still be wary as you are messing with a permenant colour here and I am sure it will stain materials given the chance. The packaging states you can leave this on anywhere up to 40 minutes. However I lasted between 20-25 minutes as I was very concerned at how BLUE my hair was looking during this time. Unlike the L'Oreal Luo range its much easier to wash off your head in my opinion... and the difference in colour is outstanding compared to the latter. ********** My Opinion As stated above, I had to wash it off much earlier than I expected due to my hairs rapid transformation to that of a Smurf! Even more shockingly I discovered once it was washed off and dried and straightened my hair did look like it had a blue-ish old lady colour tint to it! I had to wash my hair quite a few times in one night to get rid of the blue-ish tinge which then left my hair looking very shiny and a grey/silver colour behind which is the exact shade I have wanted for many months! In my opinion this is a great colour to use after a bleach - and it really does make the L'Oreal Luo range look weak. It makes me quite sad looking at reviews and YouTube video's of L'Oreal Luo knowing that not many people know that this range is so much better and at a fraction of the price! The only real downside I had with this was the blue hair to start with - but I know now for next time not to leave it on as long - between 10-15 minutes will be enough from what I have seen to achieve the perfect colour I wanted the first time. Another small snag is that cold burning sensation you get on your head when using a toner after bleach - in all my years bleaching experiance this is very normal and I am used to it but if in doubt you are probably going to be best to wash it out straight away and ask the advice of a professional. In terms of how long the colour lasts on your hair, I used this 3-4 weeks ago and the colour is still there bright as ever - my roots are coming through which are the only thing that need coloured again so soon I will be repeating the bleach and toner treatment using this product. In terms of maintenance of keeping the colour as silver / grey / blonde as possible I would recommend a Clynol Silver Shampoo to use at least once a week. I swear by that shampoo!! If grey hair like mine is not your thing fear not - this colour comes out of the Clynol Viton Go Blonder range which have unnatural colours like mine but also go to honey blonde which look a lot more natural! There is something for everyone. ********** Clynol Viton Go Blonde is available quite widely but mainly in salon supply shops as this is a salon use product and its supposed to be used by professionals only. This review is in no way advice on how to colour your hair at home yourself as results can vary and I have limited experiance on colouring myself which is why I do this myself. I bought this 60ml tube out of my local salon supplies shop for £6.60 and the price varies on Amazon between £6-£7 with delivery on top so you would most definetely be more beneficial finding a supplies shop which sells this. Clynol Color and Care Reflex Silver Shampoo
by k444tmc Yep, I am still reviewing all things hair bleach and associated so you will have to put up with these reviews a little while longer! As previously mentioned in my other reviews I bleach and colour my hair at home - myself - and now I am getting on to the products which keep my hair as white as possible whilst still keeping in good ... condition after bleaching! My favourite product after bleaching items and toner would be my beloved silver shampoo - which is an absolute godsend! Silver shampoo for those who know little about hair bleach, is simply a shampoo, and in contrast to its name its actually bright luminous in colour when poured out of the bottle. The idea is that the purple tones help to neutralise (take out) brassy yellow tones that you sometimes see after a bleaching session. There are many brands which sell silver shampoo's now, but today I will be reviewing one of the originals which I personally buy direct from a local salon - from the Clynol range. ********** So, the bottle that I buy comes in 300ml and generally this is the normal size bottle you usually find on sale in salons although they may be able to buy them bigger directly but I have never seen this. The bottle itself is quite bland - white - with red and black font to tell you what the product actually is. Unless you were looking for this stuff you really wouldn't notice it. The back label confirms that the violet blue agent within the liquid helps to take out yellow tones from your hair and actually repairs the hair structure. You are advised to use this once a week on your hair and alternate with other shampoo's - for use you simply massage into wet hair and then rinse. However with white or grey hair you leave to soak into your hair for up to 3 minutes and then rinse. With me having white blonde hair I don't tend to rinse mine out straight away and sometimes I have been known to leave it on for 2 hours wrapped up in a towel at the longest that I recall! It doesn't damage your hair as such, but sometimes if left on too long can leave your hair looking a bit purple. However as it is a shampoo and not a colour it is easily washed off again if this happens and doing this still takes the yellow colour out of your hair! There is a total shelf life on this product of 12 months - which to me is more than enough, as one who uses this at least 3 times a week and literally lather my hair in it, a 300ml bottle lasts me around 2 months. The bottle itself is a hard plastic - but not hard enough that it causes difficulty in squeezing out the product when it starts getting a bit of an empty bottle! The lid you simply pop open and there is a quick opening in which you use to dispense the product. As previously mentioned the liquid is purple - BRIGHT LUMINOUS PURPLE - the scent of the shampoo is very pleasant and the best way I can describe the scent is like the shampoo you smell in a salon. Very nice. You can create a great lather with the shampoo if your hair is wet enough before you start. To me the shampoo is very thick when you compare it to regular shampoo's. However if you leave it on and don't wrap a towel around your head, waiting for it to work its magic, whilst doing other things around the house it can be a bit messy and leave a trail of purple bubbles behind you - no good! ********** My thoughts? Using in comparisson with bleaching products and toners this shampoo does work very well at keeping yellow tones at bay in between colours. However a few bad points about silver shampoo - unfortunately it is more expensive than regular shampoo's - but you get what you pay for and I prefer to use this as opposed to big name brands selling shampoo's "specially forumulated for certain hair colours" as I know this works better. Another issue for me is how much mess it can cause - I have a white tiled bathroom which thankfully is a bit old and I am having the room done up next year which doesn't make it a big issue - but until you actually use silver shampoo you don't realise how much shampoo actually splashes your walls until you see flicks of purple everywhere... However if you wipe it away quickly enough it stops lasting damage... and if if flicks on your clothes a good spin in the washing machine sorts it out! I only have one qualm with this one as opposed to other silver shampoos that I have tried in the sense that it struggles to tone out yellow tones at the very top of your hair - just under your roots - and sometimes not even leaving the product on your head for a few hours does much use! Not sure of the reason for this, and it never happens after its been freshly bleached but it seems to take to the rest of my hair. It also claims to help repair your hair... but to be fair I don't see a difference using this one other than the colour it gives! In all its a good shampoo I suppose - however its a higher price than many others which do the same job at just a fraction of the price. So I am literally giving it 4 marks due to the still existing yellow tones under my roots and would recommend you hunt around for a lower priced product - there is loads of other brands on Amazon if you search for silver shampoo. ********** As previously mentioned I purchased this from a local salon for around £8 for 300ml - and you can buy this on Amazon for £7.95 including delivery - so either way I buy it I would break even!
