I received this shampoo in a gift set I received at Christmas whilst 7 months pregnant. I was unaware that you could buy pregnancy shampoo at a reasonable rate and thought it wouldn't actually make a difference to my hair so was reluctant to try.
Before being pregnant my hair had quite a nice shine to it, got greasy quickly but was not difficult to manage. During pregnancy the texture of my hair changed dramatically. It has become a lot dryer, looking terrible at the ends, it has lost its usual shine and has become a bit harder to manage.
It contains almond oil and pro vitamin B5 which helps nourish and moisturise and I have to admit that it really does help my hair look and feel less dry, restores its pre pregnancy shine and makes it a lot easier to manage. All the things it claims to do on the bottle. It normally comes in a 300ml bottle and is white with a red flip top lid. The packaging is pretty basic but fits in well with all other baby products.
The shampoo itself is clear and I find I only need a small amount. It lathers well and so one small squirt is enough for my medium hair. I would recommend this to any pregnant woman and will continue to buy and use this for the rest of my pregnancy.
At around £3.50 it is incredibly reasonably priced and available from most of the usual places, Mothercare, Boots and Tescos.
Great product. 5/5.
My best friend very thoughtfully bought me a little gift set when she found out I was pregnant, containing some goodies from the Cussons Mum & Me range. One of those was this pregnancy shampoo, which I was a bit taken aback by because I had no idea at the time why you would need a different shampoo when pregnant! However, since then I have discovered that your hair can fall victim to hormones when pregnant, so it can start acting strangely becoming dull, thicker than usual, or start falling out! Mine hasn't changed too much, apart from becoming a little more unruly and difficult to manage, so I thought I'd give this a go.
The shampoo comes in a flip top lid and annoyingly is packaged identically to the other products in the range, including body lotion and bath soak. So....pay attention when using these products or you might just find yourself using body lotion to wash your hair! The smell is absolutely divine, and is in keeping with the rest of the range smelling slightly nutty due to the almond oil. It is clear in colour and I tend to find clear shampoos don't lather as well as creamy shampoos, with this one being no exception. It lathers enough to make the hair feel clean though, I just found it more difficult to rinse it out of my hair because I couldn't really tell when it was all gone, whereas with more bubbles it's easier to see when the water is running clear.
The shampoo contains Almond Oil and Vitamin B5 to help nourish and moisturise hair, and hopefully leaving it soft and easier to manage. I imagine it works best in conjunction with the matching conditioner, but as this wasn't part of the gift set I had to use another instead. I found my hair was slightly more manageable after using this, and it did feel nice and soft. My hair has been feeling dry and unmanageable lately, which I think is partly due to pregnancy hormones, and party due to being in need of a good trim! After using this shampoo, I did feel that it left my hair in good condition, although unfortunately the lovely smell didn't last once I'd dried my hair.
The shampoo usually retails for £3.49, but is currently on offer in Boots costing £1.74 for 300ml. I'm not sure I would go to the trouble of buying this for myself, as I didn't feel it made *that* much of a difference to the condition of my hair. Maybe this would be better suited to someone whose hair had taken on a life of its own in pregnancy, but as mine is mainly in need of a good trim, I doubt any shampoo would make much difference at the moment.

It seems a lot of companies are cashing in on the pregnancy market and I've been trying all the Cussons Mum & Me range whilst it's been on offer in Boots and I have to say I've been really impressed with the range.
This shampoo is designed for mums during their pregnancy as your hair can take on a different life whilst pregnant. During pregnancy my hair was great, it didn't need washing as much and was nice and soft and shiny but since my baby was born it's been falling out a lot (which is quite common).
The bottle is white with maroon accent colours and has a flip top lid. I also bought the conditioner which has similar packaging so attention must be paid for the label!
The shampoo is clear and quite thick. It has a quite sweet smell to it which is nice but different to the purple range from Cussons Mum & Me which I love. As it was so thick I found I used a little bit more shampoo than normal but it really lathers up well and then is easy to rinse out. I tend to use this in the bath most and it's been a great shampoo to use during and after pregnancy.
The shampoo is around £3 full price but it is sometimes on offer and I picked it up for half this price in Boots. I also got sent some vouchers to use on the Mum & Me range from the clubcard postal offers so watch out for those if you're in the parenting club.
My hair was clean and shiny and although it's still falling out I think it will slow down soon as it did after my last pregnancy. I put this down to hormones rather than products I'm using! The shampoo works best with the conditioner from the range and has lasted me quite a long time as I have been alternating it with other brands (I like to do this so my hair doesn't get used to any one kind of shampoo as it has in the past).
I do like the Mum & Me range and this shampoo has lived up to the high quality of the rest of the range. It's nice to feel pampered, particularly in pregnancy and it's also a fair price. I have found I only need to wash my hair every three days with this shampoo which is less often than usual and so that makes up for the fact that I use a little more each time. Highly recommended.
