Daniel Field Magic Conditioner
by dawnymarie INTRODUCTION This review follows on from the story of my 'bad hair day' experience that I began with in the Daniel Field Plant Re moisturising Shampoo review. Due to my hair being frazzled, by what seems to be a reaction between a shampoo and some henna that I had used to colour my hair, I needed some wonder product to rescue ... my hair and restore some much needed moisture. Happily I had an immediate positive outcome with the shampoo and now looked forward to applying the Daniel Field 'MAGIC' conditioner. I had purchased this because of the promising name and because it was advertised as a conditioner that had protein and strengthening capabilities specifically for damaged or chemically treated hair - that will do me! FIRST IMPRESSIONS MAKE AN IMPACT I am often loyal to a brand or seller if the whole experience is good. That means the whole journey - from browsing the website/shop to longevity and benefits of the particular product. This company gets 5 Stars for everything from me. The website www.danielfieldmailorder.co.uk (there is another website that is very similar and it can be confusing) is user friendly and easily navigated - lots of choice and payment is straight forward. There is a telephone order line too. Delivery is prompt and the package is high quality with all lids secured. And; cruelty free/suitable for vegans. Very impressed. HOPEFULLY COST EFFECTIVE FOR MY FULL HEAD OF THICK HAIR? Being the same size as the shampoo bottle at 250 ML I did have the same concerns as to how economical this product would be. This conditioner is £6.50 per bottle and I hoped that I was going to get what I paid for. SO GO ON THEN - IMPRESS ME DANIEL! Following shampoo and rinse, which left my hair in such a wonderful condition, I allowed my hair to dry a little before depressing the push top lid on this streamline and simple bottle of conditioner. I like this design, the dispenser allows you to pour with some control - so no unruly squirts that send your expensive hair stuff shooting across the bathroom. Oh my goodness - what an experience I had when the lid opened. The fragrance that greeted me was amazing - once again like the shampoo I can't detect the exact scent but I would say almond was included and it was a smell sensation that delighted my senses. I was delayed in applying the conditioner because I was awestruck by the smell! I eventually dispensed a good 50p size blob of this high quality and luxuriously creamy product into the palm of my hand. I rubbed my hands together and then distributed it all over my hair. The conditioner smoothed onto my damp hair with ease and I allowed it to sit there for 3 minutes or so. It was not a chore to wait. I did not experience any irritation to my sensitive scalp - quite the opposite as I felt a lovely cooling sensation and enjoyed the aroma that is stronger than the shampoo's delicate fragrance but not sickly or overpowering. It smells CLEAN - it is like Daniel found the organic mineral ingredients to produce a fresh whiff! The time came to wash the creamy delight off my hair. This was simple to do, it came off very quickly and when I smoothed my hand over my hair, to push excess water from my face, I was optimistic and excited about the results. Starting at the crown of my head a did the wet finger test and pushed the fingers through my hair - like a hot knife through butter! Need I say more? It felt super soft and smelt sensational! DRY TIMES I styled my hair whilst using a hairdryer. All the time I could smell the fragrance and it made the task all the more enjoyable. My brush went straight through my hair and was not stopped by tangles or knots. My hair was manageable and easy to style and once finished the final outcome was that I had my lush locks back! Gosh was I pleased about that! My hair looked healthy, shiny and was tangle free. It was super soft to touch and no signs, or feeling, of a rough straw texture to be found. These results were from day one of using Daniel's shampoo and conditioner and my hair remains the same after using the product again and again! I have had no dandruff or irritation which I am delighted about. This really is Magic! I was not expecting such good results, I thought I would still have a roughness to my hair but I cannot find any evidence of this at all. Now that is Magic! The capability to nourish and enrich my fried and messy locks is amazing - my hair really was in a desperate state. I think that with this conditioner you are definitely getting what you pay for - excellent service and a transformation of my hair from dry to moisturised and healthy. The bottle is not the biggest and may initially appear to be poor value for money - but that is not the case in my experience as a little goes a very long way and to have achieved what it has done for me it is worth every penny. It is easy to dispense and you have a good amount of control, the conditioner is super creamy and spreads effortlessly onto the hair. The fragrance is absolutely gorgeous and lasts for a long time - I can often detect it when I am doing an activity and my hair swishes about my face. I have a very sensitive scalp and have not had any irritation or dandruff since using this product. My hair is now back to its former glory and I have no doubt that this conditioner is going to be my regular choice from now on. It is called Magic for a reason - it really does work as if by magic! Plant Remoisturising Shampoo
by dawnymarie INTRODUCTION Have you ever had a bad hair day? I never had those kind of experiences until I messed about with some henna on my locks which was fine until I used a particular hair product and that is when my nightmare began. Following a shampoo and rinse my normally silky soft hair had a texture like straw - it was dry, ... brittle feeling and unruly. Then, once conditioned to the max and following application of serum, I styled my hair - or tried to - and I ended up with a dry and shaggy mess. It was horrible. I tried numerous products which included some that normally kept my hair in a wonderful condition but this task was even too much for them to combat. Finally I decided to try Daniel Field shampoo that was a plant based, remoisturising treat and suitable for vegans. This claimed to be for dry and chemically treated hair so I thought it may have a chance and even though it was on the more expensive side at £4.95 for a 250 ML bottle I had to take a chance as I was pretty desperate and was running out of reasonably priced options. OH ER THAT IS AN IMPRESSIVE PACKAGE Just had to mention the ordering experience as it was top class. The website I ordered from was www.danielfieldmailorder.co.uk (there is a slightly different Daniel Field website which can cause confusion). I found the website to be very user friendly and the whole process of ordering and payment was hassle free. There is also a phone number if you prefer to order over the phone. I was impressed when my package arrived a day later and it was professionally packed in a brown sturdy box with the Daniel Field logo on top. The shampoo bottle was taped around the lid to prevent any spillage, I thought that was a nice touch. DOES THAT LOOK A BIT SMALL TO YOU? My first impression of the 250 ML bottle was that it didn't look as if it would be cost effective - I felt anxious that even if I loved the product I may not be able to afford to buy it very often. The bottle is a simple and sleek design and reminds me of shampoos that are stocked by hairdressers in the salons - looks good quality. I was going to put my concerns on hold and see what happened. LOVELY JUBBLY I normally wash my hair in the shower as I need to rinse it well to ensure that I have eliminated all product from my head - otherwise my sensitive scalp gets very irritated and itchy. When I depressed the lid of the bottle to open the seal - which was smooth and easy - I had a sniff and detected the most beautiful and natural fragrance. I could not tell you exactly what the scent was as it is difficult to say what it actually is - floral tones came to mind, it really is beautiful. It is organic and mineral based. When I had torn myself away from my state of bliss enjoying the fragrance I deposited a good 50p size amount of the light green, luxurious shampoo onto the palm of my hand. I was still wondering how economical this was going to be but tried to put that thought out of my mind. I applied the shampoo to my wet hair and began to massage in quickly before the water left my head - to give the shampoo the best chance to lather up. To my surprise and relief this shampoo covered my hair easily and provided a lovely foam like lather which was different to other commercial shampoos because it felt light and bubbly - like the inside of an aero chocolate bar. I didn't feel the need for a second application because following the thorough rinsing of my hair it felt squeaky clean - indeed I actually heard a little squeak sound as I ran my hands firmly from the top of my head to the bottom to remove excess water! WHAT WAS ONCE ROUGH IS NOW SUPER SMOOTH! Did I dare try to run my fingers through my hair? I have to admit that I was anxious and did not want to be disappointed. I lingered for a while enjoying the fragrance and feel of my newly washed hair and let myself indulge in a pretence that all would be okay. I knew that at some point I would need to see if the shampoo had been effective and made the decision to run my wet fingers through my damp hair, starting at the crown of my head I began to push my fingers into my hair - they slid all the way down to the ends. Nothing prevented the smooth passage of my fingers, no lugs or tangles. I then felt the end inches of my hair where it had been so straw like and to my astonishment I discovered that it was now silky and soft! I had to check again and was reassured - it was lush! That was impressive. AGAIN AGAIN I have used the shampoo again and again and the results remain the same. I have no concerns about the shampoo lasting and being economical because I only use a small amount each time I wash and it works wonderfully well. My hair is back to being soft and smooth and that is such a relief, this shampoo is certainly worth its weight in gold! Cruelty Free and suitable for Vegans. HOW WAS IT FOR YOU? Good - who am I kidding, blooming brilliant! If I was handing stars out (oh I am giving a star rating) it has to be 5 Stars from me. This shampoo managed to change my hair from a straw like texture to silky and smooth after one application! How good is that! I have my lush locks back and I am so very happy about that. I was really concerned and did not know what I was going to do if this shampoo failed to remoisturise my dry locks. The price may be off putting but it can be cost effective - I use a small amount of this luxurious product and only need one wash as it cleans so well - squeaky clean! It foams up all light and bubbly which is different from other shampoos but a nice sensation. I have not experienced any irritation or itching on my super sensitive scalp which is a huge relief. And; did I mention the fragrance? It is divine, not overpowering as it is delicate - it really is a treat to use. I feel like I am indulging in a guilty pleasure when I wash my hair with this. I am excited to inform you that the best is yet to come. Watch out for my Daniel Field 'MAGIC' conditioner review - I can tell you that it is appropriately named and is another product that is well worth the cost. Plant Remoisturising Shampoo
by ladybracknell I've been colouring my hair for more years than I care to count and as a consequence of slapping on all those chemicals, it can sometimes appear to be something less than my crowning glory. In fact, on occasions it has resembled nothing more than a mouldy haystack. Desperate action was required and I decided it was time to try to ... remedy the damage caused by all those chemicals. Enter my saviour, Daniel Field. It was actually my hairdresser who recommended trying this product when I went for my last cut and blow dry. I'd told her that although I wasn't prepared to go granny grey and would continue to colour my hair, I wanted to find something to give it a treatment that would improve its condition and bring it back to gleaming good health with the results that I always had following a trip to the hairdresser. She told me that Daniel Field is well respect in the hairdressing industry but that his products can only be bought online unless you happen to be a customer of Mr Field's hairdressing salon in the appropriately named Barnet or know a salon who stocks them. Luckily for me, my hairdresser is one of the select few who use his products and she was willing to sell me a bottle of the Plant Remoisturising Shampoo. She also advised that I check out their website as Daniel Field markets a very effective and completely natural hair colourant which doesn't contain peroxide or ammonia. Daniel Field is a pioneer of organic and mineral products for both hair colouring and hair care and he only uses natural ingredients in all his products. However, I should warn you, these products are not cheap. Price and availability: I bought this shampoo through my hairdresser for £4.95 and as she's a trade customer, I'm assuming she made a little something on the transaction. However, this can be bought directly from Daniel Field's website for a similar price. I better mention here that there can be some confusion when buying Daniel Field products on the internet. Due to some sort of legal error, the registered name Daniel Field Organic and Mineral Hairdressing passed out of the "real" Daniel Field's ownership and is now owned by a company called KFV Cosmetics who, because they own the name, can sell whatever they like under that name. I would advise extreme caution when purchasing these products. Although many of the same ingredients are used, these are not all approved for use by vegetarians or vegans. Details of the correct web address is given at the end of this review. As to price, the Plant Remoisturising Shampoo is £4.95 for 250ml plus a postage and packing charge of £1.50. This is a basic charge and covers the first three items ordered so it works out cheaper to buy in bulk. For any additional items, postage is charged at 50p per item. Ingredients: This shampoo doesn't use any harsh chemicals, contains no ammonia, hydrogen peroxide or parabens, and all the ingredients, despite some long scientific names, are natural and come from sustainable sources. They contain no animal derivatives and neither have they been tested on animals. All Daniel Field products are suitable for vegetarians and are approved by the Vegan Society. The Plant Remoisturising Shampoo contains: Aqua, Decyl Glucoside, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Phenoxyetol, Xanthan Gum, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Mel (Honey), Yucca Schidigera Stem Extract, Rosewood Wood Oil, Panthenol, Linalool, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Polyquaternium-4/Hydroxypropyl Starch Copolymer, Sodium Chloride, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Powder, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Gluten, Hydrolysed Corn Powder, Hydrolysed Soy Protein, Hydrolysed Wheat Protein, Sodium Hydroxide, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate, Quaternium-15, Sodium Benzoate, Benzoic Acid. My opinion: As I had bought my bottle of this shampoo from my hairdresser, I decided to invest in a couple of boxes of Daniel Field's Watercolour hair colourant (another product I highly recommend) and some revitalising conditioner via the website. The ordering process is very simple and the items arrived within a few days. For the benefit of this review, however, I'll restrict my opinions to the shampoo alone. The bottle is very simple being white and opaque with plain lettering plus the Daniel Field signature common to all his products. The bottle bears the legend "For naturally dry and chemically treated hair" which about summed up the state of my hair at that time. The shampoo itself is creamy and feels quite silky to the touch. The scent is pleasant without being overpowering and has a very non-specific sort of smell. By that I mean that no one scent predominates and the overall perfume is lightly floral. The shampoo is applied to wet hair and massaged into the hair and scalp. Although it doesn't produce a huge amount of lather, it certainly seems to leave hair feeling squeaky clean and sweet smelling. The result of using this shampoo, plus the replenishing conditioner has been remarkable. My hair is softer, smoother and definitely shinier plus my scalp feels much better than it has in ages. I used to find that after a couple of days, my scalp became quite itchy due to various sprays and styling products that I use, which left my head feeling anything but clean but since using this shampoo, that itchiness has become a thing of the past. I should add that to minimise damage, my hairdresser recommended allowing my hair to dry naturally whenever possible rather than using the hair dryer and I'm sure doing so has also helped improve my hair condition. I've been using this shampoo now for about five weeks and during that time the improvement in the condition of my hair is very noticeable. Most evident is that my hair has acquired a softness and sheen it hasn't had in a long time. Daniel Field's Plant Remoisturising Shampoo is definitely a five star product, although I'm deducting one star because of the difficulty in sourcing it and for the fact that his products are being sold by a rival using his name, which is bound to cause great confusion for buyers. However, if and when you get hold of the right Daniel Field, you'll be suitably impressed not just by this shampoo but all his products.
