Advantages: Nice smell, great packaging and works well at detangling hair.
Disadvantages: Faulty trigger. No added extra shine.
My eldest daughter absolutely hates getting her hair brushed, so I am always on the look out for a decent detangling spray in the hope that it will make life a bit easier, and quieter! Whilst in Home and Bargain a few weeks ago I spotted this detangling spray for a mere 99p so thought I had nothing to loose by giving it a go.
This is a Disney product and I liked that they have linked a detangling spray product with the film Tangled, quiet clever. This bottle is really beautiful and caught my eye straight away whilst in the shop. The bottle is a long cylinder shape in light baby pink. The Disney logo is situated right at the top. In the middle is a lovely picture of Rapunzel from the film Tangled, she is gazing longingly into the distance and is surrounded by a colourful array of flowers. "Let your hair down" is written above the picture in shiney pink lettering. In the same style but at the bottom of the bottle it reads "Mild and gentle Detangler 200ml" My daughter loved the packaging and found it very appealing. She is currently into the whole Disney Princess theme at the moment so I was not suprised with how well it was received by her.
On the reverse we are given all the usual information including ingredients. Instructions are also given:
"Shake well before use. Spray hair evenly and comb through for hair free of tangles. Do not rinse".
As with similar products warnings are given to keep out of eyes and to avoid applying to broken or damaged skin. The product is unsuitable for children under three and we have a big red circle with a cross through it to prove the point. Once opened the spray should be used within 12 months.
At the top of the bottle is a fairly large spray trigger in baby blue. Unfortunately no matter how much I pumped it would not spray. I gave up with it in the end, removing it and replacing it with a screw on spray lid from a different bottle I had. I guess it is possible that it was this particular bottle that had this defect and was therefore just a one off. Still, it was fairly annoying and disappointing.
I must say the detangling spray smells absolutely gorgeous! Its very sweet and a smell which would be very appealing to young girls, my daughter loves it. Although I should note that this fragrance does not last long once applied to the hair. The first time I used this I sprayed it onto my daughters wet hair after her shower. It worked very well at getting rid of any pesky knots and made drying and brushing the hair considerably easier. Althought the bottle does not suggest you can, I also applied it to dry hair and it worked just as well. I usually tie my daughters hair into a pony tail for school, and using the spray made this a lot easier. When using this product we have had no problem with knots and the hair was much easier to control. All that being said I felt that the spray could have done a little more. For example many detangling sprays I have used on my daughter before have give an added shine, but this product did not do this.
I did like this spay and if I saw it again for 99p I would probably buy it again. It works well at detangling the hair, smells nice and the Disney Tangled theme makes it very appealing.
Summary: A good detangling spray
