Advantages: Left my hair tangle free
Disadvantages: Did not help to repair my damaged hair
As a Bzzagent I often get sent free samples to try and review. The most recent Bzzcampaign I have taken part in was for the new Dove Hair Therapy range - Colour Radiance. I was sent a full bottle of both the Shampoo and Conditioner. This review is based on my experience of the conditioner.
The design of the bottle is fairly plain but stands out as clearly as being a Dove product. The bottle is white with the blue Dove logo in the centre, underneath this we have a silver flying Dove. Towards the bottom of the bottle we have some general information written in white on a shiny pink background. The flip lid is located at the bottom of the bottle. On the whole I found the bottle rather boring looking and I don't think it is a product that would particularly have caught my eye whilst shopping for conditioner.
As this is in the Colour Radiance range it is designed for coloured hair. Dove claims this product has a " dual action formula" which not only repairs and replenishes damaged hair but also prolongs the hair colour for up to 10 weeks, keeping it vibrant for longer.
I applied this conditioner to my hair after using the matching Dove Colour Radiance shampoo. The conditioner is easily dispensed, it is of a nice consistency and is light pink in colour. The fragrance is very sweet, at first I found this pleasant but towards the end of the bottle I began to find it quiet sickly. The directions on the bottle suggest leaving the conditioner on the hair for 1-3 minutes but I think I left it on for around 3-5 minutes during each application. The conditioner rinses out easily.
This conditioner did leave my hair quiet soft, smelling nice and tangle free. I did feel that my hair colour stayed stronger for slightly longer however there was not a massive difference. Because I use blonde hair dye often my hair is quiet damaged, this is particularly noticable at the ends if I have not had a trim recently. After using the conditioner I did find the ends of my hair were left a little frizzy and had to add a different conditioner to the ends to combat this. Dove promised this conditioner would help repair damaged hair but I actually felt that my hair had no added protection, infact my hair became more prone to split ends and breakage.
I usually use a more expensive brand of shampoo and conditioner specifically for dyed blonde hair and felt Dove Colour Radiance was poor in comparison, it just wasn't up to protecting and repairing my hair. Whilst I was happy to try this conditioner I doubt I will be running out to buy it again in a hurry.
