DOVE COLOUR RADIANCE - express treatment CONDITIONER

I am forever filling in requests for free sample and then get a pleasant surprise as the freebie arrives in the post but it does mean that often I have no idea where I got it from. This is one of those freebies which I think may have come from Boots but I can't be sure. Anyway I am reviewing my 50 ml sample tube of the Dove intensive treatment conditioner.
I do quite like Dove and use a number of their different products at various times and I particularly like their hair products as I have found they work well on my hair type. They are not silly prices and are usually a decent quality product so I am happy to try their latest stuff any time it is offered.

My hair is short, course and thick and as I now have grey at the front of my hair I do colour it regularly too. This means that i like to use a good conditioner otherwise it can get very dry at the ends and of course I try to make the colour last as long as possible between colourings and a good treatment helps with this.

The sample I have comes in one of those upside down tubes so that it stands on its lid making it easy to squeeze out the contents. I believe the full sized one comes in a larger version of this and my tube has the same product label and dark red sign on the front, in fact it is a mini version of the real thing.

The conditioner comes out easily and is a thicker than average conditioner cream which is a creamy white colour but it also has a light pink stripe running through it. This pink stripe is the part that apparently replaces the nutrients lost when colouring hair and also repairs and feeds damaged hair.

This is a pretty thick and deep conditioner and on the tube we are told that best results are obtained if you apply from the middle to the ends of the hair as it is this part that needs most treatrment. This is no problem and I just have to remember not to massage it in like I usually do with conditioners.

It smells gorgeous like a sweet creamy coconut cocktail as it does contain coconut oil which is so nutritious for hair. It also has a sort of floral perfume aroma which reminds me of tropical islands and sunscreen on the beach.

This is called an express treatment which means it is intensive but works in the same time as a normal conditioner. They suggest leaving it on your hair for just 1 - 3 minutes and so this is what i did and then rinsed it off easily. It felt silky soft as I was rinsing it out and the feel was similar to the conditioning treatment you get with hair colour treatments and indeed I find it works pretty much the same way.
I found it rinsed out easily and after drying with a towel I then used my hair dryer to dry and style my hair. Unlike some intensive treatments this did not leave me with heavy weighed down lifeless hair. My hair felt soft, looks shiny and was easy to style and smelled lovely too.

This conditioner contains a UV filter which helps protect the coloured hair from fading so meaning that your hair colour lasts longer. I can't say I have noticed that much because my grey looks light and it isn't obvious unless you look at my hair in certain lights. It might be more obvious if you use colours very different from your natural colour but i don't know. The UV filter will also protect your hair from UV damage like a hair sunscreen too so that is a plus,.

All in all I was very happy with my freebie tube and would be more than happy to buy this again. It smells lovely and leaves my hair feeling really light, soft and looking shiny and healthy. I found I only needed the smallest amount and a little went a long way but my hair is pretty short so those with longer hair would need to use a bit more than I did .

This conditioner sells for about £3.30 in a 180ml tube but they are often on promotion in Boots and Tesco so keep your eyes open if you fancy trying it.

I would recommend this and will be buying it again when my vast stores of shampoos and other hair treats gets a bit smaller. This is a really nice conditioning treatment that is a decent price and lasts for ages.

Thanks for reading. This review may be posted on other sites under my same username.
