Advantages: Hair feels light and soft

Disadvantages: Boring packaging, smaller bottle

I have never bought Dove hair products before, I have only used their deodorant and shower gel. Their hair range has never really appealed to me as I normally am loyal to Herbal Essences or Aussie, and so I bought this Daily Care Shampoo in Sainsbury's for no other reason than it was on offer.

PACKAGING
The Daily Care Shampoo comes in a 250ml bottle. I find the packaging rather boring and non-descript - it's a plain white bottle that narrows at the top and has a flip-top lid. The Dove logo on the front is in navy, while the other writing is blue and gold. I find this would be very easy to walk past in the supermarket, and I only noticed it was there because I always look for notices on the shelves pointing out that products are on offer.

CLAIMS
The packaging says that this shampoo contains 'micro moisture serum', while forms a shield around the fibre of your hair to protect it from damage. It also says it will leave hair '100% soft and radiant'. I was wary about the micro moisture serum in case it made my hair feel greasy - despite my hair being on the drier side due to highlights and straightening, I find that shampoos which are meant to help dryness just make my hair look and feel lank.

SMELL AND APPEARANCE
I was initially put off by this shampoo as I feel the smell is very similar to Head & Shoulders, which I dislike. However when you squeeze some out of the bottle it smells slightly more floral than Head & Shoulders. I prefer fruitier smells when it comes to shampoo, but this one does not smell unpleasant at all. The shampoo is a creamy white in colour, and thick.

USE
I squeezed out a 10p sized blob of this, and it created loads of lather immediately. When I say 'loads', I mean my head was absolutely covered in suds! I was worried that this would make it hard to rinse out, but it rinsed out just as quickly as other shampoos. I like my hair to feel squeaky clean after shampooing, but this didn't feel like that at all, and I was worried my hair wouldn't feel clean after drying it. However for the sake of this review I soldiered on (what a trooper). Because it contained the serum, I didn't use as much conditioner as normal in case my hair got too greasy.

AFTER DRYING/STRAIGHTENING
When I combed my hair through while it was still wet, my hair still didn't feel very clean. However, once I started drying it, I could feel that my hair felt clean to the touch right up to the very roots. When I finished drying it, it felt very soft. It also felt 'light', as if the shampoo had really gotten rid of any product build-up on my hair.

I then straightened my hair, and it felt smooth, especially the ends, which tend to be slightly dry.

The following morning my hair was still clean. I do feel that it looked very flat and a tiny bit lank, but it did not look or feel greasy.

WOULD I BUY THIS AGAIN?
I got this for £1.16 as it was half-price. I am not sure I would pay the full price as it's a relatively small bottle compared to the shampoo I usually buy, but if it was on offer again, I would definitely stock up. I do like how soft my hair feels after using it.

Summary: Leaves hair soft and clean
