As we were going on holiday a couple of weeks ago, my partner and I went shopping for a few smellies one of which was a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner. Although we already had a large bottle of Tresemme sat on the side of the bath we decided that it was far too big and heavy to be packed into a suitcase and so sought a smaller more compact bottle for everyday use whilst we were away. Although I have tried Dove moisturiser and deodorant in the past I had yet to try their shampoo and so we opted for a bottle of Dove Daily Care Shampoo and the related conditioner.

This shampoo is packaged rather classically in my opinion, in a white slightly shimmery bottle which is illustrated with the test 'Dove Hair Therapy' for 'normal' hair and a splattering of text in a blue text box telling you that this shampoo is for daily care and contains micro moisture serum. On the back of the bottle we are told that this shampoo makes hair 'so smooth you can't stop touching it' along with the directions for use. This bottle stands upright and contains a white flip top cap for easy use when in the shower and contains 250ml of shampoo.

Once opened, the smell of the shampoo is quite delicious in my opinion. Although difficult to describe I would say that the shampoo has a strongly clean smell with a very soft fruity fragrance. The shampoo is white in colour and is of a medium consistency which isn't too runny but creates a good lather nonetheless.

To use Dove recommend that the shampoo is applied to wet hair, lathered and then rinsed. I generally find that a 50p dollop of shampoo is more than adequate for my shoulder length hair. The shampoo lathers easily in my experience and creates a lovely clean scent that stays in my hair all day after use. It rinses easily out of my hair and after following with the related conditioner I was really pleased with the results. Although my hair cannot be described as thick there is still quite a lot of it and I generally find that it can feel weighed down by certain shampoos. This shampoo however left my hair feeling soft and nourished as well as having a healthy bounce and shine. When left for a couple of days my hair still looked clean in between washes, however as I enjoyed the smell of this shampoo so much I did use it pretty much everyday while we were away.

We bought this shampoo from our local Wilkinsons and paid just £1 for it. However a look around reveals it can generally be bought for around the £1 - £2 mark depending on where it's bought. I consider this a bargain considering the way it made my hair feel and look and will certainly be buying this shampoo again. As a result this product comes highly recommended and will be scoring an excellent five stars from me.
