Dove Damage Therapy Colour Radiance Shampoo

Dove is not a brand I usually associate with hair care products; I believe their transition into this lucrative market was in the last couple of years. I know this brand best for their soaps and body washes and have tried a couple of their shampoos and conditioners. I grabbed a tube of this when I saw it having dyed hair and suffering from colour fade I am always on the lookout for good value colour protect products and the fact that this is intended to protect your hair from colours in addition was a bonus.

The shampoo comes in a white plastic bottle with pink detailing. The Dove branding is on the front with the cute little golden dove picture. The bottle holds 250 ml of shampoo, which I find quite small after using 900 ml Tresemme bottles, but they are cheap enough and good for taking away with you on breaks and holidays.

The shampoo claims to:

Have micro moisture serum to help repair hair surface to lock in the colour;

Fibre actives known to penetrate deep inside the hair reconstructing it from within;

Leaves hair with vibrant colour that lasts.

The bottle has a flip lid which is easy to open in the shower and the shampoo easily comes out of the bottle. The shampoo itself is a nice thick and white gooey liquid which smells lovely and salon like. You apply this shampoo to wet/damp hair and massage into your hair until you get a good lather.

The shampoo lathers up very nicely with minimal effort which I always like in a shampoo. You get a good coverage of suds across you hair and it feels really silky and smooth, almost like a hair mask for your hair. It feels very nourishing and more like a heavy and lathery conditioner than a shampoo which is obviously good for my hair.

After washing my hair smells lovely and fresh and clean, more importantly it feels nourished and stronger for using this shampoo. I expect that it helps to keep my colour locked in for longer as well, I always notice when I use a none colour shampoo that my colour strips out much more quickly than not. This shampoo also helps to make my hair look shinier and on the first few washes with this I can see that it looks healthier.

Overall this is a really good colour protect shampoo from Dove, I would not buy this at full price which is £2.49 for just 250 ml of product, but when it is offer it is well worth the money.

Summary: A great shampoo from Dove that very much delivers
