Dove damage therapy intensive repair conditioner
With some hair snapping and dry ends before I went on holiday I bought several different conditioners which promised to repair my hair.
This was one of them since it promises to give hair five times less split ends and also states that it will reconstruct damaged hair from inside. Hair will be strengthened and more resilient to future damage. A tall order but claims which do appeal.
HOW DOES IT DO THIS?
It apparently contains Patented (always!) Fibre ActivesTM which penetrate into the hair to reconstruct it from inside the hair as well as Micro Moisture SerumTM to nourish and repair hair surface from.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
Mine comes in a small tube/bottle which sits on its flip up/press down lid, and which has all the information and instructions in very tiny writing on the back.
When I squeeze out some of the conditioner it is white in colour and quite thick- a definite cream. This makes me think that it will indeed add some moisture to my hair and condition it nicely. The conditioner has a definite fruity smell, which I do like, and if this lingers on my hair after conditioning then I think my hair really will smell clean and freshly washed.
USING THE CONDITIONER...
Wash and rinse hair as usual and then apply the conditioner to wet hair. The instructions don't suggest that it is applied from root to tip, which is something I don't do anyway, preferring instead to apply it only to the ends of my hair. This is supposed to help to protect from split ends so I presume this is where the greatest protection is needed. For the ends of my hair I use about the size of two 2pence pieces and this seems to be sufficient to massage it nicely into the ends of my hair. On application, my hair does feel instantly softer and when I rinse it out, it feels a bit less tangled.
When on holiday, and with my hair being quite dry, I do every couple of days apply the conditioner from root to ends, obviously using more of the product and the result when wet seems to be untangled and soft hair.
Whatever the preferred method, the product should be left on hair for one minute and then rinsed out. It is nice and easy to rinse out, but I am always careful to make sure my hair is "squeaky" so that I don't have any residual product left in my hair making it look greasy and weighed down.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
I bought the small travel bottle which is 50ml and in the sale in my local chemist I think it cost me the princely and highly discounted price of 49p. the full size bottle costs around £2.50 for 200ml and is widely available from supermarkets and chemists.
I like this conditioner.it does what it says, and the boast that it is an express treatment isn't in vain. One minute is a nice short length of time for me to leave the conditioner on my hair, and for the length of time it stays on, the results are very good. My hair is left soft but still manageable and easy to style and the ends of my hair definitely seem to be benefitting.
There is a faint and pleasant smell left on my hair after rinsing.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting a reasonably priced, easy to use and effective conditioner.
