Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo
Advantages: Smells nice, works well,
Disadvantages: Bit expensive
After I had a haircut a few weeks back I found that my hair felt dry and rather wirey and I wasn't happy with it at all. I use a shampoo and conditioner routine but I also blow dry and straighten my hair regularly so I must be doing some kind of damage. I am not loyal to any particular brand of shampoo but I will go for whatever branded name is on offer/cheapest. I tend to use Tresemme as I buy the 900ml bottles when they are just £2 offering excellent value for money however I wanted a shampoo specifically for dry/damaged hair and I went on the hunt. Whilst browsing the shelves of Asda debating which to pick I noticed that the Dove range was on a reduced to clear at £1.20 per bottle so I figured for such a large brand in which I had tried other variations of the shampoo it was worth a try.
*~* Price and Availability *~*
This is available in large supermarkets, Boots and Superdrug so plenty availability and is at £2.65 for 250ml which is pretty expensive compared to my previous admission with Tresemme.

So does it work?
*~* Getting Inside *~*
The shampoo is in a top up bottle that has a flip open cap that is extremely easy to do with one hand in the shower, it's the one thing I would rate it over Tresemme on as the bottle isn't hugely heavy requiring 2 hands and neither does it have a difficult top to try and get the shampoo out. The hole is big enough to let a good flow of shampoo out but not so much that it spills out and you overuse. It flows easily from the bottle and is neither too thick nor too thin, it has a really nice creamy, thick consistency to it as well as a pearly white colour which I personally think is luxurious and gives you a bit of peace of mind that you have bought a luxury product and not someone trying to rip you off. I love the smell of this shampoo, it's very feminine and slightly fruity smelling which makes sense when there is coconut oil in the ingredients. It doesn't smell of fruit but neither does it smell of a flowery scent. It's strange to try and describe but it's a very clean and fresh scent that is not overpowering in the slightest.
*~* Using The Shampoo *~*
Using the shampoo is fairly obvious, I use about 2 50 pence piece's worth as my hair is long. I lathered this into my hair and it foamed up extremely quickly, it definitely felt like I was getting a really good clean with this one. I found that after a couple of washes just the one 50p sized blob was plenty to give my hair a good clean and prolonged the length of the shampoo bottle considering the cost I was happy to prolong it as long as possible.
The shampoo rinsed out easily although it did take a little longer to fully rinse it out with the way it foamed up but it wasn't excessively though. I use the conditioner after using the shampoo but I do find that once rinsed my hair feels slightly softer than it did before hand so I do think the shampoo makes a difference and it's not just down to one well working product.
*~* The Results *~*
I have let my hair dry naturally and blow dried it and have found the results to be similar. My hair feels smoother and softer. I also find that it is much easier to dry and straighten my hair and keep it under control whilst styling which is something. I also find that my hair looks shinier and has a bounce to it whereas before I had used this it was flat and lacked any volume.
*~* My Opinion *~*
Overall I am really pleased with this purchase, I only wish I had bought more whilst I seen it as when I went back to get some more after seeing the results it was no longer available at the heavily discounted price. I would buy this again but I do think it's a little over priced so I would like to buy it on offer but I would recommend giving this a go.
Summary: A shampoo that works well and smells lovely.
