Time for another review that falls into my addiction of beauty products, although this time it's more of a necessity than a beauty product - well, unless you're Robert Pattinson of course - "I don't really see the point in washing your hair. If you don't care if your hair's clean or not then why would you wash it? It's like, I don't clean my apartment 'cause I don't care. I have my apartment for sleeping in and I have my hair for just, you know, hanging out on my head. I don't care if it's clean or not."
How very interesting...and kinda gross. Anyway, for the people who DO clean their hair, this is for you!

I first came across Dove Intense Damage Therapy Shampoo with Repairing Serum (way to come up with the longest name in history, Dove!) when I was in my local Boots stocking up on my trusty Aussie shampoo and conditioner. It's beyond me why this caught my eye, and Aussie was my holy grail and I vowed to never cheat on it (maybe I like shampoo too much...), but I was drawn to this like a pre-teen to the Disney Channel. I decided to use this for a month before reviewing it as I feel that a month would be a decent period of time to test out the effects on my hair.

Diagnosis - dry, rough hair with accumulated damage.
Dove Solution - Intense Care Therapy Shampoo. It's formula with repairing serum nourishes dry hair and helps repair damaged hair surface. It reinforces hair fibre against further damage and helps prevent split ends. Leaves hair healthy and strong from root to tip.

The shampoo comes in a tall, navy blue, curved plastic bottle, slightly different from the one in the picture above. It has the Dove Therapy logo plastered across the front and then the shampoo name below. There is also a small label that says "new formula" on it, and a line near the bottom of the bottle that says this is for dry & damaged hair. Now, I in no way have dry or damaged hair, I have extremely healthy hair and do everything I can to keep it that way, so I figured I might as well give this a go.
On the back of the bottle is all of the usual information, directions, ingredients, company info yadda yadda yadda - does anyone even read the full bottle?

Whilst in the shower exactly one month ago, I opened up my new bottle of shampoo and squirted some into my hand. The scent really did fill the room, it was the same scent that most Dove products have, the very fresh, clean, pretty scent that we all know and love. The shampoo itself was thick, but not gloopy, it seemed very luxurious and was white in colour with a slight pearl shimmer to it. Very nice. I lathered it up into my wet hair and started singing away whilst I cleaned my whole head of hair. Eventually, it was time to rinse all of the soapy bubbles out of my hair - which was a very easy task. I continued with the Dove conditioner from the same range as this (which will no doubt be reviewed tonight or tomorrow) and carried on with my shower.

Fast forward an hour to find me with my hair dryer in my bedroom, jsut having finished blow drying my hair - it felt wonderful. It was shiny, sleek and healthy looking with a wonderful scent drifting off of it. If this was a peek into the future of my hair, then I would be extremely happy.

I am slightly OCD about my shampoo, some people use shampoo to clean their hair, and that's that. I use shampoo to clean, scent and keep my hair healthy, but did it do this?

Fast forward another 720 hours (that's 30 days) and you'll find my hair is in the best condition it has ever been, so to answer the previous question, yes, it did clean, scent and keep my hair healthy.

Dermatologically tested.
Mild formula - pH balanced.
For frequent use.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately.

I purchased my first 250ml bottle of this shampoo in Boots for just over £1.50 (the exact price escapes me), but you can now buy it in Asda for only £1, so I stocked up!!
