      Very helpful

Good for those prone to greasy hair

As I get my hair highlighted, I try and use a shampoo and conditioner that is specifically designed for bleached hair as my hairdresser told me that it helps put that little bit more moisture back into your hair than other normal conditioners, and when you have your hair lightened it can very easily end up like straw.

Being very determined not to end up looking like a scarecrow, I had a look around the shelves in my local shop and noticed that the Dove conditioners for highlighted hair were on a BOGOHP offer, not being one to pass up on a deal I decided to give it a go.

I have been using Dove products for a while now, soaps, bath foam, deodorant and body moisturisers and I have been pleased with the results and quality of the products. I was expecting great things from this conditioner as it promised to restore the structure of lightened hair making it softer, smoother and shinier.

The packaging is a pinkish colour plastic bottle which comes as an 'upside down' bottle which means that the conditioner is always near the flip top lid ready to use. The bottle has the Dove logo on the front and is nice and simple. The bottles are quite small-ish and contain 200ml for ₤1.91 but it was worth trying as it was on offer.

The first thing I noticed about the conditioner was the smell, I love the smell of the Dove soaps and the conditioner smells the same, really soapy and clean and it's quite strong so I expected the smell to last a while on my hair. The conditioner is also a pinkish colour but to my disappointment it was quite thin for a conditioner. I had to check the bottle to see if I'd picked up the shampoo by mistake as I was expecting a nice thick cream.

I used the conditioner and it didn't seem to be soaking in very well to my hair, I try and dry my hair off as much as possible in order to not dilute my conditioners but I had to put a considerable amount on my hair to try and cover it all. The plus point was that the smell was absolutely wonderful.

I rinsed and dried my hair as usual and it did feel a little softer and smoother but I'd had to use quite a bit of the conditioner to get the desired effect. I did carry on using the rest of the two bottles as I wasn't going to let it go to waste but I was a bit let down that I had to use twice as much conditioner as usual to get a good result. On the upside the conditioner didn't seem to weigh my hair down or make it greasy which was good considering the amount I used.

Having said all that my hair smelled wonderfully fresh and clean for ages afterwards even through to the end of the next day I could still smell the soapy fragrance which was fab.

All in all I was a little disappointed with having to use so much of the stuff but was really pleased with the results and fresh smell. I can recommend this for people who want a lighter conditioner or those that are prone to greasy hair but want a little more protection after getting it bleached, but personally for me, I'll be trying one of the other Dove conditioners with a more intense formula.
