Not for me! (Dove Shampoo for Coloured Hair)

Advantages: Works on normal hair that has not been coloured., Does leave hair shiney, Price

Disadvantages: Can dry out hair!, Can leave hair looking lifeless, Some don't like the smell

I have been colouring my hair blonde since I was 15, as you can imagine it needs a lot of tlc when it comes to shampoo and conditioner, lol! I have always used the bodyshop shampoo and conditioner, it leaves my hair soft shiny and in really good condition, but it does not come cheap!


So when I seen this on offer, shampoo and a separate conditioner togather for one pounds ninety nine!! I picked it up and read the bottle, it was meant to nourish dry coloured hair, well I have heard of dove before, only their soaps, but I remember the add for this shampoo, the girls tried it and had lovely glossy hair, "if it worked for me imagine what it could do for you" the girl was saying. Well I was excited, I had got myself a bargain, and I had high hopes for this!


So back home, I left this in the bathroom and forgot about it. Friday night and I was heading out with the girls, time to test my new shampoo and conditioner!

I hopped in the shower and wet my hair, I took the shampoo and lathered it into my hair, I know some people don't like the smell, but I thought it was okay. I rinsed and repeated, after getting out the last of the shampoo, I felt my hair, it was dry and tangled, I started to panick!

I grabbed the conditioner and applied loads to my hair, I left it on while I shaved my legs, trying to leave it as long as possible to work.

After drying my hair, I was really dissapointed, my hair was shiney, but it was so dry it looked really unheathy!

Too late to do anything about it, I had to go out that night with dry and lifeless hair, I should have tested this when I had nowhere to go lol, needless to say anytime I try a new product, I wait till a time when I have nowhere important to go!

So overall I would say to avoid this if you have fragile hair like myself, alough my mum used the rest of this and it left her hair lovely, she has normal hair that has not been coloured, so I will give it a higher rating becouse of this, as it does work for some people.
