Advantages: Shiny Hair, Soft Hair
Disadvantages: Tangly when wet
Dove Care and Radiance Shampoo ? Coloured Hair I got this shampoo and a conditioner as a sample from: www.dove.co.uk I thought I would try the sample before I bought any of the shampoo and conditioner because I have always thought of Dove as soap and shower gels and I didn?t know whether they would translate well into shampoos and conditioners. Well this is how I thought about Doves Shampoo and conditioner. I am writing this review on both the shampoo and conditioner because I feel they come as a package rather than apart. PACKAGING. Remember these were a sample so the packaging may vary if you buy the bottles. Both samples came in sample sachets of 10mls. The sachets were white, with a picture of the Dove Shampoo or conditioner bottle on the sachet, the bottle caps is pink. The writing on the back of the sachet is a purplely colour, and the actual sachets are of a matt colour rather than the shiny sachets you normally get. This gives overall a more expensive feel to the products. THE PRODUCTS Using the shampoo and conditioner is easy, for the shampoo you make your hair wet, put the shampoo onto your hair and then lather it up, rinse it and then repeat the procedure, there is enough in the sachet to do this. The smell of the shampoo is overwhelmingly like Dove soap, and this put me off a bit because it was a very sickly smell and soap doesn?t do a lot for my hair. To use the conditioner you need to massage the conditioner (I would suggest you use all of the sample sachet) through damp hair to the ends. It doesn?t suggest you leave the conditioner on, but I always do as I feel it makes a difference and then you rinse it out. The conditioner also smells very strongly of Dove soap, it looks like a normal conditioner and the consistency is the same, it is white in colour. After rinsing out my hair it normally feels quite silky when it is wet when I use my normal conditioner, but with Dove it didn?t and it fe
lt quite harsh. I felt it quite difficult to comb my hair when I had rinsed it out and towel dried it, this is a pain, because my hair is thick and quite long therefore it makes life a bit more difficult. When my hair was drying it also started to tangle fairly easily and I had to keep combing it. Once my hair was dry however, it felt shiny and soft, not as good as my normal shampoo and conditioner but it did stay shiny and soft until I next washed it. The only problem was that it stank of Dove soap! VERDICT Would I use it again? The answer is probably not, don?t get me wrong it was a nice shampoo and conditioner but I didn?t get me going. It certainly cleaned my hair and left it soft and shiny, but it was nearly impossible to comb my hair when it was wet and also when it was drying, this makes things painful. It is a good shampoo and conditioner but I feel that is a run of the mill type of shampoo and conditioner and I will be sticking with my normal stuff. PRICE Just a note on the price, I don?t actually know the price because they were sample sachets but I would have thought it was around the £1.50 a bottle mark. BUT don?t quote me on that!
