Dove Therapy Shampoo for normal hair
I brought my Dove Shampoo from my local Tesco store last week. It was on offer and cost me just £1.00 for a 250ml bottle - bargain. Because l find it difficult to say no to a bargain, l thought ld give it a go and see how l got on with this product.
Generally l swap and change shampoo frequently. The main reason l do this, is because my hair seems to get used to certain shampoos after a while and stops responding so well. So l find that its best to swap and change products. However recently l haven't been treating my hair quite as well as l should have been, so l wanted a shampoo that was going to nourish my unruley locks!
The product l chose was this Dove therapy shampoo formulated for normal hair with advanced serum. This sounded appealing, and like just the thing l was looking for. The product seems pretty characteristic of most Dove products. The packaging is simple, in its classic white smooth bottle, with the Dove logo on the front of the bottle.
Applying the product was fairly easy, like with most products it's a case of opening the cap and giving the bottle a gentle squeeze. I notice the bottle is shaped to fit the hand perfectly. This probably makes it a little easier to grip when you are in the shower/bath.
The shampoo is pale and silky in its appearance, and of a medium thickness in its consistency, not too thick but not too thin, l would say perfect. The smell is delicate and fresh with a mild clean soapy fragrance. The fragrance does not over power, but leaves your hair feeling clean and fresh. It also leaves a mild clean scent in the bathroom. After use hair smells clean but not hugely scented.
When l apply this shampoo, l get a good lather fairly instantly, which is a very important factor in some of the success of a shampoo for me. I don't actually need to apply very much shampoo to enable me to achieve a soapy, bubbly layer to my hair. Because l have rather long hair, l usually get through a bottle of shampoo really quickly, so lm pleased that l don't need to use a huge amount on each wash, which makes it an economical buy.
This shampoo, has protecting serum, that looks after my hair, protecting and moisturising it from daily stresses and strains.
Even while wet, my hair instantly feels soft and moisturised, and my hands glide across my hair smoothly. When dry and styled my hair feels subtly silky soft and shiny too and my hair is relatively easy to handle, l don't have any big problems brushing my hair, and my hair feels soft and generally manageable.
I like the moisturising properties to this shampoo, and generally feel that its both cleaned my hair well, and looked after my hair in the process.
I don't really have any criticisms, but you can expect to pay double what l paid for this shampoo when it was on offer, having said that, because l found l didn't need to use a huge amount of shampoo at one time, it probably would work out a fairly affordable shampoo even at full price. It's a top quality product, l would expect no less from Dove. I wouldn't say it's a really special shampoo, it's a good shampoo, but for me it's a good quality everyday shampoo, which does what it suggests it will do, its not a premium shampoo that ld wish to pay a huge amount extra for, that will dramatically change your hair, but for a subtle difference, it's a worthy buy.
I will most probably use this product again, and l was very happy with my purchase. I recommend this product!
Summary: a good everyday shampoo
