It's a great idea, if it truly worked. However, this is not the alternative to the asian way of straightning hair. However appealing the thought might sound, there is no straight sleek hair as a result of this product (at least not for those of us with fine hair). Although it isn't as terrible as online reviews give it, it does take paying careful attention to instructions. If you do not follow the directions carefully, hair damage will result. This product costs about $30, which is quite expensive for a product that takes so many risks with the tresses.
I have fine hair. This product required that I apply the straightner (which is in liquid form)for no longer than five minutes max. The product instructed me to cut that time in half if my hair was fine. Instead I chose to deduct an extra 30 seconds off of that time The product was on my hair for approx. 2 minutes.
The finished look was less than what I had hoped for. Although it didn't look ghastly, I did get minimal breakage around the front where I would have bangs and my hair was drier than it had been before I used the product. My hair was only slightly straighter than it had been prior to treatment. I would suggest instead using a ceramic flat iron that costs around $65 - $160 at most beauty supply stores. With a flat iron at least you can have the satisfaction of knowing your hair will be stick straight when you're finished. Even if overusage does occur, the dryness that you might experience with a flat iron is nothing compared to having your hair dry because of a chemical.

Summary: Will not make your hair look like the model on the front of box.
