Advantages: Left hair feeling and smelling great

Disadvantages: Didn't revive and shine my hair too much

I recently brought for the first time a shampoo product from the Elida range, purely because it was on special offer - and we all love a bargain don't we! There are many different types of shampoos in the Elida range which suit all hair types but I opted for the Revive and Shine Shampoo to try and inject some life into my usually dull, lacklustre hair.

~The Product~
Elida Revive and Shine shampoo is a quite clear looking shampoo in colour, though has quite a strong 'purpley' tint to it. Each shampoo in their range is a different colour bottle/liquid to enable the consumer to differentiate between the different types of shampoo in the range. Each type of shampoo has a conditioner to match in the same colour.

The shampoo itself is quite a thin liquid, though at the same time its not too runny so you don't find yourself wasting any. I was quite surprised to find how well the shampoo lathered. I only used quite a small amount (around the size of a 50p piece) and this was enough to wash the scalp part of my hair, as well as the length. I admit I only have medium length hair (just above the shoulders) so if you have longer hair you will probably need double the quantity to cover the length too.

The lather was thick, rich and creamy and really felt like it was cleaning my hair well. It rinsed out easily too and one thing I really liked about this shampoo was that it wasn't irritating or stinging to the eyes (one of my pet hates!). It was quite mild and gentle which impressed me.

I really liked the smell from this shampoo. It isn't 'flavoured' as such, it just left my hair smelling really clean and fresh.

~Price/Packaging~
Generally a bottle of Elida shampoo (it doesn't matter which type you choose from the range) costs £1.59 in the shops for a 200ml bottle. This is the same for the conditioners too and they also do a couple of '2in1's which are again the same price.

However at present (and quite regularly) in Tescos you can get two bottles of Elida for any hair type for just £2.00, so at just £1.00 a bottle you are getting quite a bargain!

Each bottle in the range has a similar look - a regtangular bottom with a curved flip-up lid.

~The Range~
The range of shampoos and conditioners on offer by Elida are listed below:-
Revive and Shine (purple bottle/lid)
Care and Protect (magnolia bottle/lid)
Volume and Vitality (peach bottle/lid)
Silky Smooth (magnolia bottle/white lid)
Daily Refreshing (green bottle/lid)
Daily Shine (2 in 1) (white bottle/lime green lid)
Nourishing (2 in 1) (white bottle/magenta lid)

~Results~
Would I use this product again? I would actually. The first 3 or 4 times I used this product I was amazed at how shiny my hair looked after drying. I thought i'd found a miracle product! However, after the first few washes, it just didn't seem to have the same effect anymore and it left me feeling quite disappointed.

I loved the smell it gave my hair after washing, and my hair felt clean and soft as required, it just didn't then give my hair the injection of life it promised after this time. I still use it occassionally now to run the bottle out, but now I use it alongside another shampoo as I have now lost the confidence to use my Elida shampoo on a daily basis as my only shampoo. Although my hair felt great, my main problem is that it just didn't look as good as it felt.

I haven't yet tried any other product in the Elida range, though I do have a bottle of Silky Smooth in the cupboard waiting to be used as when I brought mine, they were on special offer, so I can't comment on the range in general.

In summary I love the feel this product gave my hair and scalp and you'll love the smell of your hair after washing. I only wish it left your hair looking as good as it felt.

My hair looked dull and lifeless before using this product and went back to looking that way again after just a few washes with Elida. Rather disappointing unfortunately. I'd give it 3 out of 5.

Summary: Not bad/not great. A little disappointing in the end.
