      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A fair shampoo, but not quite what I was expecting

I don't normally buy L'Oreal Elvive shampoos because at full price they are a little too expensive. However, I saw them on offer in Boots at 2 for £3.00 so I chose the Nutri-Gloss as 1 of the 2. The shampoo is aimed at mid-to long dull hair...which fits the description of mine fairly well!

The bottle is an attractive baby pink with a darker pink lid and looks quite nice in the bathroom. Squeezing it out of the bottle, it is a pearly pink, shimmering liquid, just the right consistency. It spreads through hair well and lathers easily. It washes out well, and leaves hair feeling quite silky before conditioner. I applied my usual conditioner afterwards

The shampoo promises a mirror-shine, cashmere touch, however I can't really say that it lived up to this expectation. Yes, it cleaned my hair well and did not dry it out, but it looked no more shiny or soft than it usually does. So in this respect, it let me down a little.

In my opinion, I think that you get more haircare benefits such as shine and softness from a conditioner, so I would probably not buy the shampoo again but instead buy a shampoo with more achievable results, such as a light, volumising one.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A good shampoo from L'Oreal

I have used L'Oreal Elvive's Nutri-Gloss shampoo many times over the years. Despite this, I don't see it as a favourite product, but it is one I know I can depend on.

The shampoo is for mid-long dull hair which unfortunately describes my hair quite accurately! It promises 'mirror shine, cashmere touch', and contains pearl proteins which help achieve this.

The shampoo comes in a baby pink bottle with a slightly darker pink flip top lid. There are lots of silver accents on the bottle and it all looks very girly. I have no issues with the packaging, although when it comes to the end of the bottle I do find it needs a good shake to get the last remnants out.

The shampoo itself is a very pale pink shade and has a pearly look to it, which I guess is to be expected. The shampoo is quite thick in consistency and also rather creamy which I like. It has a lovely smell to it, but it is not necessarily a smell I would associate with shampoo - it reminds me more of a fabric conditioner! I think it has a fresh, clean scent to it, not unlike the Clean Cotton Yankee Candle! Strange as it sounds I don't think that's actually a bad thing, it is after all still a nice fragrance.

On using the shampoo I find that it lathers really well and despite my hair being long and thick, I can get away with using a smaller amount of product than I usually would. It produces a creamy lather rather than being bubbly, so it rinses out really easily without leaving any residue in my hair. I use a lot of products in my hair and find I sometimes need to wash twice to get rid of build up, but this shampoo is efficient enough that I only have to wash once.

As my hair seems to become tangled and knotted quite badly, I do follow up with the matching conditioner. I find that once dry the scent disappears from my hair, but I'm not a fan of having strong fragrances lingering in my hair so this doesn't bother me. I find that my hair is left soft and smooth with a hint of shine to it. The ends of my hair can often be quite dry and I feel that this shampoo leaves them feeling nourished and more hydrated.

One problem I have been finding with shampoos lately is that my hair gets quite greasy within 24 hours of washing. Thankfully this is not the case with this particular product and I have not found it to leave my hair greasy at all. Strangely however, one of my colleagues was talking about this product quite recently and referred to it as 'nutri-grease' and said quite the opposite that it left her hair greasy rather than shiny, so results may depend on your hair type.

The shampoo is available in a 250ml or 400ml size. Prices really fluctuate with this product, but what I will say is that there are frequently special offers on this range. At the moment the 250ml retails at £2.89 and the 400ml is £3.99 in Tesco. Most of the major supermarkets as well as chemists such as Boots and Superdrug stock this shampoo.

Overall, this is a good shampoo. I don't find that it does anything special or amazing for my hair, but it gets it clean and soft and leaves it in nice condition. As I said right at the beginning this is a shampoo I know I can rely on and I have no doubt I will purchase it again in the future.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Decent affordable shampoo

My hair is quite long and with a lot of body and as I wash it on a regular basis I do like to rotate the shampoo and conditioner that i use as I find it best to freshen things up every so often as after a while using the same shampoo does not get great results. I paid £3.49 for a 400ml bottle of this shampoo and I bought the conditioner at the same time, you can also buy it in a cheaper 250ml size as well. It comes in a bright pink plastic bottle so it is easy to spot of the supermarket shelves, it has a flip top lid underneath which the shampoo is dispensed from.

It was only later that I noticed that it is mainly meant for greasy hair, I originally only noticed that it was good for long hair and my hair does not fit the greasy category however as I had bought it I thought I would give it a try anyway and to be honest it worked well enough on my hair which I guess falls into the normal category. The shampoo itself is not as bright as the bottle, it is a pale, watery pink colour. It has a very candy sweet smell to it, very feminine and girly and at least that means my other half will not be using it up.

It lathers up nicely and has a pleasant enough smell as I massage it into my hair. I certainly have not noticed any issues with using this on normal hair. My hair feels nice and soft and very manageable after using this, it has a nice amount of body and bounce gto it and of course it feels and smells nice and clean which is what you would expect. There is a nice shine to my hair after use and while I do use product in it my hair still retains a healthy look to it and I have been very pleased with the results especially considering that it is a very affordable shampoo.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        a nice shampoo

        ==L'Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss Shampoo==

I am generally not too bothered about what shampoo or conditioner I use on a regular basis. I tend to get which ever brand is on offer at the time I need it although I do have my favourite of Pantene although this can be rather expensive when not on a special offer. My last purchase was this L'Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss Shampoo and conditioner set. It was on special in boots for buy one get one free with the RRP of one bottle being £3.59.

The bottle was a good size of 250 ml which lasted me around a month with just me using it and washing my hair on average around twice per week. The conditioner lasted me longer but I tend not to use this after every application of shampoo and especially with this shampoo I don't feel conditioning is necessary.

The design of the bottle is nice and I like the pink colouring of the plastic as it has quite a girly and modern feel to it. The wide flip top lid is ideal for when the shampoo is coming to an end to be able to turn the bottle upside down and let the dregs of shampoo run down to the hole so it it easy to make sure all of the shampoo is all used up.

The shampoo itself is a wonderfully rich creamy colour that also has a very slight pink tinge to it. There is a pearly type of look to the shampoo which is where the gloss comes into it I think and this kind of pearly additive is what is said to make the hair have extra shine after use.

The aroma of the shampoo is really quite sweet and appealing. It is not overly strong and in my opinion I feel could be a little stronger so that it lasts more in the hair after rinsing and drying the hair as I couldn't really smell it that much once it was dry and seeing as how the aroma is so nice I would have like it to linger a little bit more.

The shampoo does bubble up well and it seems that a little really does go a long way and I always tend to use far too much and create a mass of bubbles in my hair and around the plug hole! I keep telling myself I need to use less but I have got into a rather bad habit of piling on the product. However you really don't need much more for a 50 pence piece sized amount for long hair like mine.

When rinsing the hair with this shampoo I find that my hair already feels silky smooth and soft and unlike some other shampoos, like I said before, I don't always have to use a conditioner after washing. It leaves my hair feeling really nice and nourished and it is a really pleasant product to use.

The results of using this shampoo are pretty good and my hair looks and feels very nice. I can't say it looks especially shiny but I tend to think blonde hair never shows up the shininess as much as darker hair does. However it does look bright and healthy and seeing as how I wear my hair curly it may well look shinier than it does if I were to blow dry it straight.

However all in all I have to admit I really like this product. It is a reasonable price to buy and a bottle lasts a long time given that a little of the shampoo really does go a long way. The aroma is nice although I feel could be stronger and the feel of my hair both before and after drying is lovely and soft. The overall look of my hair after use is fresh and healthy so I really don't feel I could ask for more in a product like this and for that reason I feel that it has to be a top score of 5 out of 5 stars and a very high recommendation!

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you

Many thanks for taking the time to read

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A lovely shampoo

I was on a cruise ship in the middle of the Med on my honeymoon when I realised that I'd forgotten to pack any shampoo! Luckily the ship had it's own 'corner shop' so off I went, and the only brand I recognised was L'Oreal Elvive. I paid £5 for 400ml which for the middle of the ocean is excellent, given that it costs £3.80 in my local Sainsbury's!

The type I bought was 'Crystal Shine' which comes in a pink bottle, and has a matching conditioner, which I didn't bother purchasing until I was satisfied that the shampoo suited me. I have extremely sensitive skin, and certain shampoos bring me out in a terrible rash and I have to throw them out immidiately, even ones made for sensitive skin such as Dove or fruit ones like Fructis.

So, I gave the shampoo a try in the shower, and first impressions were very positive.

The shampoo is lovely in the hand, feels thick and creamy and has a white pearlescent look about it. The smell is fresh and clean, I wouldn't say overly perfumed, just creamy and soapy. I probably used slightly too much the first time I used it (a handful), you really do only need a 10p sized amount as I have past shoulder length hair and this is enough to foam up to a thick, creamy lather. It really does foam up well and you do feel all your hair is getting a good all over clean without having to really scrub hard. A gentle massage into the scalp is all you need.

It washes off well and leaves the hair squeaky clean. On drying my hair I found it felt light and clean, without the heavy sticky feeling that some cheaper shampoos can leave you with - like your hair is greasy with residue even though you've only just washed it. It leaves your blow dried hair feeling bouncy and fresh with a light scent. Even on my sensitive scalp there wasn't a tingle to be felt, it was very gentle on my skin. I used the shampoo every day on my holiday and brought the shampoo back to the UK to continue using it, I was a bit disappointed when it ran out, haha!

As I have a baby daughter I tend to use 2 in 1 shampoos and cheaper shampoos such as Herbal Essences but for a slightly more expensive and dare I say more luxury shampoo (well to me anyway) I really enjoyed using the L'Oreal Elvive Crystal Shine and will try other ones in the brand, and am more likely to buy them when they are on offer or when I am going on holiday.

I've used quite a few L'Oreal products now and I've been pleasantly pleased with them all, they're a good mid range brand when you want to use something slightly nicer than your cheaper every day stuff, if like me you usually use value items, or are wary about changing your brand due to sensitive skin I'd say treat yourself to L'Oreal because it does seem very gentle and well made as well as giving excellent results. Four stars from me, a lovely shampoo.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

a good shampoo that works well on coloured hair

I usually stick to one type of shampoo or conditioner once I find one that I like as it seems to be difficult to find a good one that agrees with my hair, especially as I started to grow it out longer. One of my relatives told me about this shampoo and I decided to try it for myself. The bottle makes a lot of promises about what the shampoo can do for your hair, and I was very impressed with the results.

            Appearance and Smell
The bottle seemed to be of the standard Elvive design, but was eye catching and gave you lots of information on the product, including that it contained glitter! The shampoo itself has quite a citrus smell to it and was refreshing but not too strong, I do not like smelling the overpowering smell of shampoo every time I turn my head.

            Use
I found that it lathered in my hair well, and left my hair feeling very clean. It also kept my hair feeling fresh all day, as I have very greasy hair and have to wash it every morning. When I was drying and straightening my hair it felt soft and had a lovely sheen to it. As I used the shampoo over a length of time I found that it kept my coloured hair shiny, in good condition and it seemed to enhance the colour in my hair. Sometimes with washing it every day the colour fades very quickly but this shampoo prolonged the depth of colour of my hair. It made my hair feel clean whilst leaving it light with no residue left behind.

I found this shampoo a very good buy, especially as I got it as part of a deal at the supermarket, but even at full price £2.40 for 250mls, or 2 for £4 at the moment, it is a great value shampoo which cleans your hair, leaves it feeling and looking like you have just stepped out of a salon, and has a fresh fragrance throughout the day.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A girly glittery product that does make your hair glossy!

I have used many Elvive hair shampoos over the years but switched to Pantene as I was swayed by their many best product awards and ranges directs at straight hair etc. I tried this Nutri-Gloss shampoo at a friends house, she had bought it the previous day and told me it had glitter in it and was pink so she couldn't resist, so in the morning I thought 'why not?'

I know whenever you switch shampoos you often get tricked into thinking it's amazing and offers something new but I really could see and feel a difference with this one. I have coloured hair so I think this makes it easier to detect differences in shampoos and this shampoo is aimed for fine to normal dull hair which mine often is because of the colouring I do. It did look shinier than when I usually wash it, I doubt the glitter in the shampoo actually does this but it worked so I was happy.

I did used to use the old Elvive Nutri-Gloss a few years back and this product has improved, the actual shampoo looks better being clear and glittery, before it was peraly pink substance. Also the packaging has been changed too, it is clear so you can actually see the inside and the lid is now flat, so you can have it upside to use all of the product.

I bought a bottle myself and now alternate between using this and Elvives Colour Protecting shampoo as I need to for my red dye! I find when I use Nutri Gloss my hair feels lighter and definately shinier, plus I feel extra girly because it's pink and glittery! Another good point is that it lasts forever so it's worth the money and Elvive are usally part of some kind of offer in Boots, Sainsburys or Tescos too.
