Advantages: Vibrant colours and good durability

Disadvantages: heavy, giving headaches after a while

I have been thinking a little while now about having synthetic dreadlocks weaved into my hair and after speaking to a few friends I was firmly headed in the direction of the Elysee Star Synthetic Dreadlocks.

So I went online and had a lok and found, first off, that they came in a wide veriety of colours and designs and also that they were of a decent length (24"). Each pack came with 10 dreads and for my head only 3 were needed although they say anything around 6-7 packs are needed for a full head (I only had half a head).

I used Black and green colours in my hair and found the black was a good deep black and the green was a very vibrant colour. They were easily applied to my head although no instructions of application were included with the pack although instructions can be found online.

When in, the dreads felt secure and didnt irritate by back as others have done and stayed in pretty good condition for most of the time they were in save a few which started to loose their twist. However I found these dreadlocks to be very heavy, altough this is a common trait with synthetic dreadlocks these seemed even more so. This could, however be due to the thickness and quality of the lock.

I bought these locks from Afrocare.com for £5 per pack of 10 and then postage on top of that. They can also be found on Ebay and I have yet to find them in any local hair care shops.

In all a good lock, shame about the weight.
