Advantages: quality cutting, good service
Disadvantages: location, cramped salon sometimes
Like many of the reviews here, certainly in this section anyway, this one should have small print that goes something along the lines of; "these comments are based on visits to only 1 salon and so do not necessarily reflect the organisation as a whole". NB. Perhaps the people who run this site need to thinkn about that for all reviews. Anyway, back to the review. This is based on visits to the Francesco salon in Wolverhampton. I have been to the salon many times between 1990 and 1996, although a house move then meant that I stopped going. Are the opinions still valid then? Well, yes I think they are as I have been past the salon a couple of times very recently and 90% of the staff are the same as when I used to go there. The salon looks very professional and had a major make-over quite recently so expect lots of chrome and neutral colours, quite a sort of minimalist feel it has now. It is certainly popular locally and for a Saturday appointment you would need to book well in advance - but that's the same wherever you go. The salon is part of a chain and there are several others dotted across the Midlands. So, I guess this is not much use to 90% of the population! Still, if you are ever in the region this is a high class salon. They have their own training academy and the stylists are mostly very good. I have been to several people over this period, usually changing because someone left rather than they because they weren't any good. Sometimes, for me anyway, the salon can feel a little cramped and you are sort of elbow-to-elbow with other clients. Service is good and you will normally be offered a drink of some sort. Options for your hair are discussed before anything is done and you do get the impression that they will only do what you want. The quality of the cut is excellent and they have their own product range so that you can maintain your style. One minor problem might be, especially for people outside o
f the city, is getting to it. Wolverhampton is not the world's best city for motorists although the salon is only 10 minutes walk from the main civic car park.

I have been to the Frachesco salon in wolverhampton 5-6 times over the past year and a half. I would like to add that the cuts I have received have been of a high calibre and the products that are used coincide with the condition of individual hair types, which is pre-determined through a consultation on arrival. I would like to add however, that I have experienced some of the staff being quite neglectful towards customers, therefore the professionalism of staff isn't all that great.
I think some styles are alittle over-priced than one would expect, but the outcome overrides this.
