JOHN FRIEDA FRIZZ-EASE Secret Agent Flawless Finishing Creme.
Around 6 years ago, my brother's former girlfriend (a hairdresser) introduced me to John Frieda!
It was love at first trial! And within a week, Mr Frieda had come to live with me.
Of course this was not 'John Frieda' himself, but rather one of his World Famous products, JOHN FRIEDA
FRIZZ-EASE Secret Agent Flawless Finishing Creme to be precise.
We have had a successful relationship for over 6 years, and now I would like tell you all about it!
Some basic information about John Frieda:
John Frieda was born in England in 1951. His father was a hairdressing entrepreneur, so it is no wonder that John had an interest in hairdressing from an early age.
In 1976, John opened up his first salon in London aged just 25!
Over the years he continued to make an impact in the Hairdressing sector, and had many celebrity clients, including the late Princess Diana!
In 1989 he formed the company - John Frieda Professional Hair Care Inc.
In 1990 the company's signature product Frizz-Ease was launched.
Since then, John Frieda has worked with chemists to develop products to address specific needs of virtually all hair types (from frizzy to limp) including coloured hair.
John Frieda now cover a vast range of hair products, from basic shampoos and conditioners, to over-night conditioning serum, curl reviver styling moose and glossing mist!
(He was also married to the singer LULU! An irrelevant but interesting fact)
The product/Packaging:
The product is priced at £5.49 for 100ml in Boots, where it is currently included in a '2 for £7.50' offer across
the John Frieda range.
The crème is contained in a squeezy, sliver coloured tube with a clear (now purple) flip lid. The product is designed to stand upright on the lid, which it does rather well and feels sturdy.
The John Frieda Frizz-Ease logo is clearly displayed on the front.
Each product within the John Frieda range is numbered between Steps 1-5. The numbers represent the stage that the product should be used, whilst styling your hair. Step 1 products (i.e. shampoos) are the first stage of styling your hair, whilst Step 5 products are needed to create the perfect finish for your hair.
John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE Secret Agent Flawless Finishing Creme is a final finishing product, and is therefore clearly marked - Step 5.
On the front, there is also a brief description of the product:
'Breakthrough crème, applied to dried hair. Instantly transforms puffy, parched hair into a perfect smooth, supple shinny texture. Replaces natural oils lost to blow-drying.'
The back of the packaging contains further information on the product, how it works, and the benefits you will see once used.
You will also find the ingredients and Directions for use:
'Apply to dried hair. Rub a small amount of crème into palms. First, 'pull' through under layers of hair, concentrating on ends where the hair is driest. Then smooth hands lightly over surface. Use more to tame trouble spots. Re-apply as needed.'
The crème itself is creamy white in colour. However, when rubbed into my hands the cream becomes clear and leaves my hands with a shiny look to them. The crème feels quite light, almost like body lotion and it has a light fragrant 'salon smell' to it which I personally love.
Now, a little information about my hair:
I have always had fine 'fly-away' hair which is naturally wavy. Sometimes I spend ages styling my hair, but as soon as I leave the house it will either get tangled up from the wind or go limp from the heat of the sun. I have always had rather long hair (it currently sits below my bra straps).
Up until last summer my hair was blonde (highlighted with bleach). This of course left my hair rather dry and course at times, I found FRIZZ-EASE particularly useful in keeping my hair smooth.
My hair has now been dyed brown, and I have noticed a huge change in the overall condition. It is now noticeably softer, silkier and shinier than it had been when I was blonde. It still needs help though!
Since I have had my children I don't seem to have anytime to go to the hairdressers, so it only gets cut around once every 3 months (not the recommended 6 weeks.) As a result, I often have split ends to contend with. FRIZZ -EASE is brilliant at camouflaging my frayed split ends.
My experience of using this product:
As I mentioned at the beginning, I was introduced to John Frieda FRIZZ EASE around 6 years ago.
I was amazed at how sleek, straight and healthy my hair looked when 'Becky' applied the crème after my hair cut. In-fact, I was so impressed that I needed to know what she had used, this is how I came to know the product.
I didn't own a hair-straighter back then. I could spend ages blow-drying my hair straight, but it always had that 'puffy' look.
I needed to buy some of this crème!
I had expected FRIZZ-EASE to be very expensive, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found it was selling for around £5.00.
It is now my favourite hair-care item that I have used on a regular basis over the years.
The instructions state to use a small amount. I would personally recommend that a 'Pea' size is all you need. The crème really does spread well, and if you use too much, your hair will end up looking greasy. This has happened to me a few times, when I have got carried away, but I know realise how little I need (remember my hair is very long as well).
Due to the fact that you only use a tiny amount each time, the product lasts a good 8 months to a year, depending on how frequently you use it. I personally use it at least once a week.
Another tip I have is to quickly blast your hair with the hair dryer after applying the crème, so it dry's quickly.
One of the main benefits of this product that I have not yet mentioned is that it also contains sunscreen to protect your hair! This will help protect your hair from sun-damage, even during the winter months.
As far as I am concerned, this is very much a designer hair-care product, sold at a very reasonable price.
What more could you ask for in a hair product?
Summary: Fab product that helps style and maintain healthy looking hair!
