Advantages: Works on frizzy, dry, permed and sticking out hair

Disadvantages: Easy to miss bits out, could be expensive if you use a lot

I have the most annoying hair possible (or maybe we all think that about our own hair). It is dead straight, lank and greasy - lovely! To cap it all I have horns. By this I mean two curly bits at the edges of my fringe that curl up every day to look like cow's (or devil's) horns. My partner often 'moos' at me. It gets worse in the damp or rain and I have to wash it or wet it and dry it every morning to try and flatten it (it will always 'horn' by the end of the day). I blame my mum for passing me her annoying genes.

I had heard of this Frizz Ease serum from adverts but presumed it was for frizzy hair as the product name suggests. One day I read an opinion about it which suggested that it could also be used to smooth curls rather than frizz and it gave me an idea - why not try it for my horns?

I purchased a two sachet pack from Boots for £1.25 rather than the more expensive bottles (25ml for £3.95 or 50ml or £5.95). I washed my hair, towel dried it as usual and with trepidation read the instructions. Whoops! The first thing to note is that it should be on soaking wet hair - it specifically states not to towel dry it. As you can imagine, I used a miniscule amount on each side of my fringe and applied it with my fingertips (the instructions say to use your palms). I dried my hair (it says to style as usual), and it dried straight (sometimes I get a curl immediately). I have tried other leave in solutions which have made my hair look very greasy, such as leave in conditioners, but this product simply disappeared. The serum had passed test one, but would I grow horns by the end of the day?

I looked in the mirror obsessively all day at work (they must have thought I had a tummy problem as I was in the loo so often). It was not curling. By the end of the evening it still had not curled - a miracle! It had passed test 2. The next morning I was still not curly, but instead in love with this product. It had also passed test
3 (the morning after). I have been using it for months now and the only problem I have had is ensuring I get the correct bit of hair with the serum. I have been known to miss some and look even funnier than normal as all around the horn is lovely and straight and then a mini (but very develish) horn pokes out.

The serum itself is a clear, thick liquid that leaves your hands feeling sticky. Unfortunately, the sachets didn't last me very long, as I only used a little and the rest leaked out when they (accidentally) lay flat. Instead I bought a 25ml bottle, which comes inside a cardboard box having pictures of a frizzy haired person being transformed into a curly person and then a straight haired person. The packaging is quite dull, a clear bottle with a white pump dispenser. The instructions are hard to read as you can see the writing on the other side of the bottle which is distracting. In my case, I use very little so the bottle has lasted nearly a year so far, but I do not use it every day. It says to use different amounts according to your type and length of hair. I can imagine of you had long thick, dry and frizzy hair you would get through a bottle quite quickly. There is a warning on the packet to avoid fire and smoking during use and until hair is fully dried as the liquid is flammable!

Having read other opinions and spoken to friends this serum is also excellent on dry hair, permed hair, damaged hair, curly hair and frizzy hair. I sent my mum a sachet to try and she is now addicted too as she suffers from a widespread frizziness as well as horns. The serum has sunscreen in it 'to help block out the damaging effects of UV rays on the hair'. The packaging says that it also adds gloss to the hair (by sealing the cuticle), but as I use so little I really couldn?t comment on that.

All in all this is a bit of a miracle product. For 37 years I have had horns and now I don't (unless I miss of course). It can be used for a
number of hair problems (frizzy, dry, permed, curly and damaged) and does not make your hair look greasy. If you have horns, or other sticking out bits (and I have seen lots of people who have), give it a go.

Does it matter if you towel dry your hair first? I've bought this but keep forgetting to use it until after I've given my hair a vigourous rub-down!

Can 9;t say I've noticed any difference but I haven't used it for a few months so will try it again tonight, properly! Cheers for the op.
