I have searched around for a long time trying to find a hair product that works well with my hair and I came across the Fudge Hair Shaper a while ago. It is made in Australia and can be purchased online or in good hair salons for a premium price. However, it is well worth the buy as it does a fantastic job, smells lovely and lasts a long time.

It comes in a grey tub with an orange lid. The grey and orange colour scheme is unique and very modern as part of the Fudge variety. The orange lid has the letter F on it with a grey background surrounding it, which stands out. You can definitely not miss this one on the shelf. The front of the tub has the Fudge logo and says 'hair shaper' but bare in mind there are other tubs that look the same such as the 'fat head' variety. The hair shaper costs a whopping £12.95 for a 100ml tub. However, it does last a long time, as you only need a small amount when using it.

This hair shaper works best with slightly longer or thicker hair as it is very strong and helps give it style. When you unscrew the big orange lid, there is a plastic cover to preserve the freshness. Once you lift this off, a sensational aroma of fudge hits you, which is to die for. It smells wonderful and is lovely to have in your hair. The actual fudge is an off-white to pale yellow colour and is of quite a thick and creamy consistency. It is not like a gel but more like a thick cream, which doesn't feel very wet. This excellent texture gives a lovely basis to work with when styling your hair.

The highlight of the product has to be the smell. It's just absolutely adorable and I have had a few comments before about the smell - good comments. I like to wash my hair with conditioner before applying this and use straighteners before hand if you do so. I still think it's important to apply this to slightly damp hair, but it should be 90% dry. This enables you to style it well rather than your hair flopping back down because it's too wet and then it's a waste of fudge. Get a small amount on your hands by dipping your finger in and then rubbing them together until they feel hot. Apply it to your hair as close to the roots as you can to really get it sticking up so you can style it as you like. If you want a dry look, use a very small amount but if you are looking for a slightly wet look, use slightly more with damper hair.

Whether you are looking for a messy style or just a crazy style or even a French crop, Fudge will do a superb job. The thickness allows you to style it to the max and the smell is so fantastic that it's just irresistible to use. Despite the rather hefty price, it's a product well worth buying. A 100ml tub lasts me around three months if I use it five days a week on average. You really only need to apply a little bit as it is powerful stuff. It gives a strong hold throughout the day and you will smell it every now and then too like you're wearing it as aftershave. The only drawback for the product is that if it rains whilst you have this in your hair, it will start to drip down as big white drips, which doesn't look very nice. Obviously it's unlikely this will happen, but it's an experience I do not wish to have again. Overall, it's a great product for all kinds of hair - even the toughest to style!
