There are lots and lots of hair straightners on the market today all trying to cash in on the trend that looks set to stay...straight hair. How do you know which set of irons to choose? Before I bought the futura irons I had owned a Braun cordless straightener, this was ok for just straightening out the ends but they were simply not powerful enough. Next I tried a Babyliss steam set as I had heard that the steam was better for your hair, alass, these to were not up to the job. Next, I decided to invest in ghd irons but before I did I asked around to see if they were worth the £90 price tag. Everyone said they were excellent but VERY powerful, this ... I have very long thick wavy hair which refuses to blow dry straight no matter what I do to it!! My sister owns a set of GHD straighteners which I loved but as I?m a student £90 is a lot of money!! They are very simple to use and the switch glows red to tell you that they are on. They are black and blue and you squeeze the two handles together to close the irons (like scissors) At least 4 good friends of mine have bought super futura straightness, I borrowed them before a night out and I was really surprised by how good they were. I decided to buy the super fransen futura straighteners for 39.99. The features are: * High performance PTC ... Read the complete review

I have had years of thick, curly, frizzy and very coarse hair, so when the fashion became to have poker straight hair, I nearly died. I fought with a set of metal plated straighteners which used steam, (before the ceramic ones came along) I tried blowdrying it straight, but still it looked like 'candy floss'. I went out and bought a pair of Futura irons, for £40ish, a lot cheaper than the GHD ones. But I had read reviews saying that you pay for performance. I totally felt that this was the case with the Futura irons. My sister, who has straight hair anyway, told me they were great. I immediately ordered a pair, and as soon as they arrived I tried them ... Read the complete review

I've had a pair of fransen Futura straighteners for about a year and a half and they've broken! I honestly haven't used them that much (probably averaged works out about once or twice a week) and about three months ago they stopped heating up. I am just about to send them back to the company now. My housemate also has the same straighteners and hers broke about two months before mine did. She had exactly the same problem with them not heating up. She sent hers back and they were replaced with the new style straighteners. I love these straighteners though! I'm guessing there must have been a product fault on the old style ones. I have ... Read the complete review

I have naturally curly hair which i hate so i straighten my hair every time i wash it. I had a normal pair of irons bought for me for christmas they cost £30 from Argos. They were ceramic coated but never got that hot. A friend of mine started dating a hair dresser and inherited a pair of Futura irons. I used them one night before we went out and was amazed by the results. I never go out with my hair down because as soon as i step out of my frontdoor it goes fluffy again but with the Futura irons my hair was sleek and super smooth. It made me a lot more confident. My friend was unsure how much they cost and i was convinced i would never be able to ... Read the complete review
