Advantages: Cheap on the internet, Hair is left sleek and smooth, Not as expensive as the GHD ones
Disadvantages: Can get very hot so you have to be careful, Expensive to buy from hair salons
I have naturally curly hair which i hate so i straighten my hair every time i wash it. I had a normal pair of irons bought for me for christmas they cost £30 from Argos. They were ceramic coated but never got that hot. A friend of mine started dating a hair dresser and inherited a pair of Futura irons. I used them one night before we went out and was amazed by the results. I never go out with my hair down because as soon as i step out of my frontdoor it goes fluffy again but with the Futura irons my hair was sleek and super smooth. It made me a lot more confident. My friend was unsure how much they cost and i was convinced i would never be able to afford a pair. I came home and got straight on the internet and found a pair on www.hairways.net for only £35.99 plus P&P which was £3.95. I ordered them straight away. They also arrived within 2 days which is excellent. I would reccommend them to anyone who wants straight hair and i'm not just saying it but they have really changed my life. They have a 150 watt element, they heat up to 170 degrees, have a removable and reversible comb, the plate size is 10cm by 5cm. They have a salon length cable which is always a good thing. They were also used on the "Salon" so if the professionals rate them then they must be good.

- 08/09/04 well i have been straigntening my hair for about 2 years now and it would still be curly if it wasn't for futura. My sister had a pair and introdcued me to them (well i sneaked in her room and used them) and i have never looked back. I have afro carribean hair and it goes silky straight with about 2 hours or blowdrying and straightening and when i go for a regular cut at my cousins salon she says that my hair is in very good condition considering i use straigtheners!
M y hair is naturally curly and i have no relaxing treatment on it so you girls that are sick or your frizzy flyaway hair and don't want to ruin it with realxers or perms then you dont have to. just a bit of serum and futura does the trick!! |

- 25/11/03 You know,i have written a review myself about the Futuras and i thought they were excellent UNTIL i went to a new hairdresser and she had ones that were thermo ceramic and they were even better. The straight-ness of the hair was just the same but it got rid of the frizz aswell, with the futuras my hair tends to go frizzy straight.
Im going to save up to buy these thermo ceramic ones but yes,the Futuras are great on a budget, probably the best cheaper model. |

- 28/04/03 Hiya and welcome to dooyoo :o)
I have wavy hair that is sometimes curly and sometimes straight. I tend to do as little as possible with it and just let it be ;o) I find that it's easier that way, but investing in these might be an idea for the rare occasions that I go out! :o)
Hope you have fun here - read lots, rate lots, comment too so people know you're here! |
