Advantages: straighten my hair, cheap, big plates

Disadvantages: Gives split ends, bulky

I have very long thick wavy hair which refuses to blow dry straight no matter what I do to it!! My sister owns a set of GHD straighteners which I loved but as I?m a student £90 is a lot of money!!
They are very simple to use and the switch glows red to tell you that they are on.
They are black and blue and you squeeze the two handles together to close the irons (like scissors)
At least 4 good friends of mine have bought super futura straightness, I borrowed them before a night out and I was really surprised by how good they were.
I decided to buy the super fransen futura straighteners for 39.99.
The features are:

* High performance PTC ceramic heating element (hmm..I tried to find out what ceramic heating elements do as the plates themselves are not ceramic but I had no luck!)
*World-wide voltage (For Use on Holiday very handy!)
* 47mm metal plate with removable comb (this is good for smoothing out the hair on the plate but I found it does snag the hair sometimes)
* 210° degree max temperature (watch those fingers!!)
* Auto temperature control
* Lightweight design (I found them quite bulky but not particularly heavy)
* Optimum heat in seconds (they are quite quick I wouldn't say seconds though!)

Compared to GHD's they are quite bulky which isn't that good for those with short hair i
guess, but as i've got really long hair its a bonus!

On my hair they straighten really easily - although I do recommend sectioning off the hair and doing section by section. I also recommend using some kind of heat protector spray (as with any heat styling) as it does give me split ends!
My overall conclusion is that the futura straighteners are great for my hair - whether it would be suitable for extra curly I?m not sure but for hair like mine I definitely recommend.

hi everybody, hope your all having a good day :o)

Mrs Canada - Im not too sure what you mean by 'revenge raters' as all the ratings i have given you were positive. If i have done something wrong please let me know as i wouldn't want to upset anyone else. I'm only doing this as a bit of fun and trying to help others using my opinions.

Foxy lady - hello there :o) I used to have some babyliss ceramic ones which were quite good, the ceramic plates scratched really easily though.

Kimking- I think there was a batch of GHDs that were faulty and some blew up!! eeek genrally i think they are ok though.

My sons girlfriend has the GHD ones and they caught fire while she was using them.
