Advantages: Gives a great matte effect, excellent hold when used properly, very manageable, gooey which I like

Disadvantages: Frustrating to know what to do with it in your hair, better on shorter hair, too exaggerated

I am quite the hard one to deal with, when it comes to hair. I'm always looking for new products to try to spike or style my hair, so I can be satisfied. I'm Asian, so I'm pretty stereotypical to have anime hair, and so, when I was just looking for another wax to use, I stumbled across this Manga Head by Garnier.
I've never used a Fructis product before, but I was willing to give it a try, since all the other products I've used failed and didn't give the 'ANIME' hair result like I really wanted. I read the label on the container at Shopper's Drug Mart, and it said, 'Explosive Goo. Extra Strong Hold. Matte Effect.' which seemed very tempting for me. I was willing to test it out for myself. At $6.75, (CDN) it was very reasonable, and its strengths seemed to be very considerable to me.

Manga Head is an explosive goo, with a white thick, gooey texture.
To apply this, simply first, you take a hazelnut amount of gum in the palm of your hand, and you 'warm' it up by rubbing it in your hands. Apply it to dry or damp hair. I'd suggest completely dried, straightened hair. If you straighten your hair, it will help. Hairspraying while styling helps shape the hair too. You have to decide quick what style satisfies you, because it does dry fast. After moving it through your hair, just streak your hair in any way you desire, and 'twidle' your hairs for a spike effect. Well, you may do it in any way you want really. It will be manageable, unless you wait for too long. ;)

At home, at first, I was hoping that it would really reach its features for real. But as I used it, it wasn't as satisfying as I thought it would be. It did show the matte effect. And I didn't have to use much to show results, unlike other hair products, which is pretty amazing. But as I figured out, just a little won't keep my hair up for the day AT ALL. I considered that I should use more then. But I haven't started either, because I wanted the goo to last for a long while. It only stayed in place, if I was lucky. I don't have a system in which I use to style. I just wing it. I still use the same amount. Anyway... back to the story. I ended up with the exact same 'peacock' hair as before with other products, and that made me very aggravated. It just doesn't look right at all. Also, it's true that it doesn't look very natural. People will truly know that you have something in your hair to style it all out. So, for a few days, I ended up with my stupid peacock hair. I had to figure out some way to make anime hair. It was amazing how it washed out very easily. It was soluable, and that was very nice, because I wanted a hair product that would really help me and my hair like that. But still, it didn't last all day. I heard that it didn't even need hair spray. So I listened, I followed. But later, I did try to reason. I put a little more than usual, and warmed it up more, and stroke it out evenly on the top of my head. I was like, dammit, peacock hair. I hate you. And I knew that the goo dried very, very quickly. I truly needed time to fix it up. So, I used water in my hands, after i applied the stuff, and then stroke it my hair to style it up better. AND IT WORKED! Water actually helped me style it up a bit. It was probably cuz my hair's pretty long, and it helped the goo just spread out and work it out. I was pretty happy with the results. I then learned that I should use hair spray after too, and that REALLY helped out. :) It was great! But yes, it sometimes is very hard to succeed with water in your hair. I was just lucky. But i still use water to manage it out, but sometimes it doesn't work out either. :) I just have to be lucky. Oh, and ps, water will probably give you less of a matte effect then. Or even a shiny, dry look. :) Overall, this is an amazing product, with a few flaws, but the best I have EVER gotten, and you should be satisfied with this as well. I figure that this product will be much better with shorter hair. I am hoping to get my hair cut, and see how the goo works out then. Good luck to everyone who's considering to use this product.

Summary: Sexy product. lol It's still the best I've used. It works, and it's a great product to consider.
