Advantages: Long lasting vibrant colour

Disadvantages: Over processed hair may not keep the colour as long as desired

For several years now I have been experimenting with a wide variety of different brands of hair colours and have practically tried every single shade imaginable from white blonde, blue black and pillar box red so I've been through a number of good and bad products. Red has been my favourite colour and I have gone through every single shade imaginable and know which ones to buy depending on how subtle or in your face I wish the colour to be. Garnier Nutrisse's Fiery red provides a vivid auburn shade with ruby tones in natural lighting, don't be fooled by the expected results that are pictured on the box. I can confirm that light/mousy brown hair will have the closest result to the image on the front of the packaging however darker hair will not have a brighter result as the dye is not designed to lift the hair a lighter colour.
Using these dyes on bleached/processed blonde hair will most likely have a paler colour than anticipated which won't be anything like the box picture as blonde hair will need a couple of applications to keep up with the colour if the hair has great amounts of damage, however this may not necessarily the case with natural blonde hair that hasn't been through bleaching and dying. Most dyes are affected by the health of your hair so don't be disappointed if a dye doesn't give you the desired results as over processed hair is less likely to retain the colour molecules as they are weaker. I know this as I was previously white blonde and used Garnier Nutrisse's Mocha Brown which faded to a light caramel brown as my hair was extremely damaged. Eventually I became bored of the brown and opted for the red head look and used their dyes once again.

I had significant regrowth by the time I decided to go red and therefore had half a head of healthy fresh hair and half damaged hair and I could see the difference in fading of the dyes; my roots are still a lush ruby red and haven't faded at all, but my ends that are broken are fading to a mid auburn tone which is still a nice colour to have. If you have healthy hair, you're guaranteed to have a long lasting and vivid shiny colour however if your hair lacks hydration the chances of the dye lasting will be significantly reduced. Overall throughout all of the products I've tried and tested I've found that this range is the most reliable as it doesn't leave your hair feeling clogged up and matted after dying and comes with gloves as standard and a small bottle of conditioner that leaves your hair feeling extra silky.

Summary: Affordable and reliable dye that makes you look like you've been to the salon!
