Advantages: Covers grey and leaves hair feeling nice not dry

Disadvantages: Can sometimes not get the colour you want.

Every year when summer comes I like to lighten my hair colour not only does it feel good but it helps me to feel more summery and blondes seem to have more fun.

A good quality hair dye is always the one to seek out, as cheaper versions will just leave you with the wrong coloured hair at the end result, or worse dry brittle orange hair.
Garnier Nutrisse is a good tried and tested product for me. It is made by L'Oreal and comes in a green box with a picture of a woman with great looking hair. There are lots of different hair colours to choose from and I bought the Natural Ash Blonde. It cost me £3.95 at The Savers Shop.

When you open the box you will get an instruction leaflet, thick rubber gloves, developing milk, a tube of nourising cream and a small bottle of conditioner.
This is so easy to use and a step by step picture guide can be followed from the instructon leaflet.
Pierce the tube of nourising cream and squeeze it into the applicator bottle, shake thouroughly and then your ready to apply to the hair.

Always remember to do a strand test as the darker your hair is the darker the end result will be, a hair lightener kit can be bought if you have really dark hair and can be applied the day before to lighten the hair ready for the blonde to go on top.
If you have a sensative skin then doing a strand test will tell you whether this is going to irritate your skin or not.
Once you have done the strand test apply the mixture from the applicator evenly over the head of hair, making sure every bit is covered. Splitting the head into sections will help so that you can apply a section at a time working from the back of the head to the front.
Always make sure your in a well ventilated room as this stuff smells of peroxide.

Once you ahve applied the hair dye wait the alloted time for it to take which is usually 20 minutes, then rinse off until the water runs clear. Apply the conditioner as this will help to make your hair feel soft and not break when brushing. Dry the hair and you will see it has lightened into the colour you wanted.
This is an easy hair dye to use, it has easy instrustions to follow and I have always found that I end up with the colour I want. If your loooking for a change then this wil give you one, if your just after covering grey hair then this will also do the job.
Always remember to condition your hair after washing if you have coloured it, otherwise it will become dry, brittle and look like straw.

Have fun.
