Advantages: Amazing, can be used worldwide, work brilliantly, light, look nice, easy to use.

Disadvantages: You might just have to spend a lot of money on them and their fabulous range of styling products! :)

In my opinion, there are no other straighteners worth getting than GHDs. Being the best straighteners around, they would naturally be the most expensive. I decided to wait a while until the buzz died down, then bought them at a waaaaay cheaper price. I bought the wide plates since my hair is so long, down to my waist and also very thick so I decided these would probably be the best for my hair.

**In Use**

When I first got these out of the box, I was amazed at how sleek they are. They look gorgeous and have a satiny feel, not a horrible plasticky appearance like so many other hair stylers on the market do.

I plugged them in, and they started heating immediately, and were hot to the touch in about 4-5 seconds. Ready to use in about 20 seconds (they have a little flashing light which goes off when they are ready AND they beep!) I started straightening my hair. Immediately I felt a difference in my hair from other straighteners - it was so soft and smooth and did not snag on the ends.

When I finished straightening my hair - a miraculous 10 minutes later, it used to take me at least 1/2 an hour with my old Trevor Sorbies - it felt amazingly soft and was perfectly straight.

Needless to say I've had no problems with them at all. The most amazing straighteners out there, especially for people with long, thick hair - it makes an easy job out of it!

One more mention - I took these straighteners to America recently. The newest ones can be used worldwide as they adapt to the different voltages, and they worked great with only an adapter, no voltage changer. Just as well, because my friend brought her own GHDs (the slim, older ones) and could not be used as the voltage changer broke!

Fell in love with GHDs as soon as my hairdresser used them on my hair. 10/10, get some GHDs, preferably the newest ones as they can be used worldwide, good for the travellers out there!!
