Advantages: Give good results
Disadvantages: Can dry out hair
This is one of the few beauty products which no woman (or man!) would regret buying. True, these GHD straighteners aren't cheap at around £100 but anyone who owns them will tell you that they are more than worth it.
The straighteners are comfortable to hold and easy to use, giving excellent results every time. The are mains-powered so you never need to buy new batteries and they never 'stop working' and i have never known anyone complain of any manufacturing errors or faults.
They are sturdy and therefore will stand up to being knowcked about a bit in the bottom of a suitcase or even in a handbag! They reach intense temperatures which gives a brilliant result, but you may have to take care not to catch your hand or an ear on the ceramic plates. Once you are used to using the GHDs, straightening becomes an easy chore that you won't be able to believe you lived without. Even with my naturally wavy, frizzy hair, i can achieve straight, sleek results in around ten minutes; really no time at all. Also. if you wish to create flicks or subtle waves this is possible with practise, and with newer models, even curls are easy.
However, after years of use, your hair can begin to become dry and a bit brittle at the ends, although I'm sure if you used the correct hair products the heat would pose no problems at all.
The straighteners are also very safe; although not recommended, if they do happen to be left on the bed or on a carpet they are very unlikely to start a fire; i once left mine lying on a skirt when i went on holiday for 2 weeks and my home was still intact on my return!
Definitely a must-buy if you want straight hair, whether just for the occasional evening out or on an everyday basis.
Summary: Great straighteners!
