Advantages: Straightens hair a bit..

Disadvantages: Expensive, overrated

God forbid I could ever leave my room without at least a straight fringe! But what do I choose to keep my hair so slightly straight? GHDs of course! Mostly because they seem to have a bit of a reputation as being the best straightners around, but are they?

The thick GHDs are good for long and thick hair (like mine) but it can take a while to get your hair right. You can get them in either a black or pink design (believe it or not I chose black) but both are actually quite simple and attractive.

After being plugged in for a couple of minutes the straightners can heat up to the required temperature and a red light tells you that they are switched on so you remember to turn them off. To be honest I think GHDs are overrated, they are pretty expensive compared to other brands but don't seem to be particularly better than cheaper options. I can straighten my hair for 20 mins and it only feels as straight as it did 15 minutes previous.

GHDs are used in professional salons so their reputation is apparent and although I do like mine I wouldn't recommend that you pay out for some when you can get just as good straightners for half the price! :)

Summary: Buy some other straightners :)
