Advantages: Good smell, adds shine & doesn't weigh hair down

Disadvantages: None

I have several intensive hair masks that I use regularly but what harm can it do to have one more? My boyfriend asked me what extra little pressies I?d like for my 21st (as well as the gorgeous jewellery!) so I jumped at the chance to request GHD?s ?Indulgence Treatment Mask?.

INDULGENC& #69;

My guess is that the majority of you bothering to read this review will know GHD as the manufacturers of the ultimate in ceramic hair straightening tools. Well, here they are now with a funky salon-approved hair beauty mask. It comes in a rather trendy lime green triangular box with the standard GHD splashes of minimalist décor. Inside you?ll find three 30ml plastic pots of mask with ?GHD Indulgence? printed on their lids (cool!)

HOW TO USE

I would suggest removing the plastic cover from under the lid before you get in the shower because once your hands are wet it is near-impossible.

Get in the shower with the opened pot and put it within reach but away from the water. Shampoo your hair as normal and rinse. The instructions on the box are VERY minimal ?massage GHD Indulgence mask gently and thoroughly into your hair. Leave in hair for as long as required and then rinse off with warm water.?

As long as required? Well, the first time I left it on for half an hour but I?ve figured that 10 minutes does the exact same job. So you get a little scoop and smooth it over your fingertips then into your hair. Unlike other hair treatments I?ll actually put this on my whole hair rather than just the ends because this is a protein, vitamin and mineral treatment as opposed to an intensive conditioner and doesn?t weigh my hair down or make it greasy.

It is simple to apply be
cause it is fairly solid in its texture (so thick that it stays in the pot if you turn it upside down). It smells like a mixture of some kind of synthetic fruits ? not at all natural but very pleasant all the same.

After 10 minutes I rinse it out thoroughly, which is easy. As I rinse it out my hair always feels super slimy, which is a good sign because it means my hair is silky!

RESULTS

After drying my hair in the normal way my hair feels soft but it doesn?t feel AS super soft as when I use some intensive conditioners, but as this is a hair mask/treatment as opposed to just a conditioner I am happy with the results: my hair feels strong, full of body, looks shiny and feels healthy. After drying, there is a slight smell left, but not a lot. However, I?m not too concerned by this as I use other styling products which would possibly mix badly with this smell.

One thing I find particularly great about this mask is that while doing all these marvellous things to my hair it doesn't weigh it down or make it greasy in the slightest.

VERDICT

A brilliant purchase, even if you only save it for special occasions. This cost £14.95 (inc P+P) from GHD?s website (www.ghdhair.com) and I got a free anti static comb with it which is great for gently combing out knots in the shower.

There are apparently 5 applications in one pot, which I would agree with for hair my length (long). If you have shorter hair you?d probably get nearer 10 out of each pot. At its most expensive you get 15 applications which works out at £1 an go. I don?t consider that to be too expensive as I don?t use it every single week ? only when my hair is looking a bit lacklustre.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who feels like pamperin
g their hair once in a while as it is ideal for all hair types.

Sounds a bit pricey for my liking...although I do shop in Lush so cant really talk.

15 quid for FIVE applications????? Great write-up anyway but I doubdt I will ever be buying this. Ideally I like my hair short and then it only needs a bit of cheapo shampoo. DH likes longer but I am working on him (went from long to just below ear in 4 years).
