Advantages: Brilliant straightner and styler ..nothing better!

Disadvantages: Bit pricey

GHD Mk 4 Hair straighteners are by far the best available on the market. In the past I have tried other brands including Babyliss and Philips but nothing comes close to the salon finish that GHD gives. I have owned several sets of these straighteners all of which have done the job of straightening my long hair brilliantly. However, the first pair I purchased developed some kind of electrical fault which was a bit frightening! Whilst using them, a bright spark and flash of light came from the cable adjoining the styler, then a small trickle of smoke and that was that! Unfortunately, I did not manage to convince GHD to give me another pair, and they repaired them instead. Needless to say I did not feel confident about using them again, so I purchased another set. I have heard mixed reviews about GHD and their customer service in respect of faulty goods. In my opinion GHD's are not cheap and should therefore be replaced if there is a fault. I have also heard rumours of imported, fake GHD's from China. In my opinion, it is best to buy from GHD themselves or a genuine stockist or supplier (hair salon) rather than auction sites. When buying make sure the box is security sealed. There should also be a label on the cable of the straighteners, just above the plug. The hologram on it should be in tact, and display large bold writing which is the serial number. On the fake sets, the hologram is often removed and the serial number in italic font. Despite this, the fakes are supposed to be so good it is hard to tell. I am always suspicious of GHD's on ebay selling for £60-75! I paid £119 for mine so it is hard to believe a genuine pair can be purchased so cheaply. I purchased mine from GHD website and they arrived next day delivery in a presentation box, containing an instruction DVD and thermal protector spray. The latest Mk 4 straighteners are really great and have been branded as a styler because you can do so much more with them. The slightly more rounded barrel means you can create flicks, waves, curls and volume. They also have a 'sleep mode' so that if left switched on for more than 30 minutes, they automatically turn off. This is great if like me you are very forgetful! All in all these are a great product worth every penny.

Summary: Worth every penny!

A good review but I feel spacing this into paragraphs would make it much easier to read.
