Keeping it straight (GHD Mk4 Straighteners)

A few years ago as a present I was given pink GHD's, they were the ones that gave money to breast cancer. I had never had straighteners before but fell in love with them immediately. Unfortunately I was a bit silly with them and used to wrap the wire around the straighteners, this meant that they eventually after two years started to stop working every now and then and finally stopped working. I was pretty devastated at this as was so used to having straight hair by this point. I had heard that you could send them back to the company, so although I knew it may have been my fault I gave it a try. I received a letter back from GHD saying unfortunately my guarantee had run out but they did offer me the new mk4 GHDs for £90, which was a saving of around £30. I decided to take them up on the offer.

I have now had these straighteners for about a year and a half. They come with a two year guarantee so I don't have to worry about them breaking. I have learnt from my mistake about the wire as well! On first try of these straighteners I knew they were even better than the previous straigteners. I plugged them in and turned them on and the straigteners beep, they then flash and then beep again when they are ready. This only takes around ten seconds so is very quick. I then separated my hair in to sections as I always do and ran the straighteners through my hair. They instantly straightened it without any need to go over that bit of hair again. I find I can straighten by hair in about 5 minutes quite well. If I want it really straight it may take about ten minutes.

I usually use a heat protection spray with this product as although ceramic straigteners like these are better for your hair than others they can still damage. The straigteners can get to a very high heat so you have to be careful, you can sometimes even burn your hand on your hair. They are fine to hold though and do not burn your hands.

The straigteners not only straighten but also can curl hair very well. My picture on here is an example of my hair having been curled with them. All you have to do is the take the piece of hair in them and then twists the straighteners as you pull them along.

One of the good features about these is that they turn themselves off after 30 minutes. This saves you from all those moments when you wonder 'did I leave my straighteners on?'. It is a good safety feature.

They can be used anywhere as they have universal voltage.

You cna now buy these for under 100 pounds on Amazon and other places.

GHDs may be expensive but I really believe they are worth it. Once you try them you won't go back.
