Advantages: Quick heat-up, superior quality of straightening over other brands

Disadvantages: Are known to break fairly regularly but that's what the guarantee is for!

This is a review for men contemplating getting these straighteners. My hair is a bit wavy, not too bad but just not conducive with the style I try to achieve. My hair is of average length as I enjoy having enough to play with but not too short so that it doesn't look styled. My old GHD's just conked out one day and were the model before these newer ones. I toiled through hundreds of reviews with people disagreeing about whether GHDs are good or not, but in my own personal opinion, they do a very good job of what I require and to be honest that's all you can ask.
They heat up very quickly and this is denoted by the reassuring 'bleep' they make when they're hot enough, which I would say takes a maximum of 10 seconds. If you are weighing up getting another brand, for the sake of £30/£40 or so, just put your mind to rest and know that with these you are getting the best that money can effectively buy. As after all, it's a great long-term investment and comes with 2 years guarantee just in case they do go wrong!
If you have exceptionally short hair I would recommend the GHD Mini Stylers which one of my friends have but in all honesty, there's only negligible difference between those and these for lads, unless you have really long, shoulder-length hair, where the straighteners with the widest plates have got to be the most advisable.
Straightening for me takes between 5 and 10 mins and finished off with the red Dax wax gives the best results. I would definitely advise these as I have used Toni&Guy and Babyliss ones belonging to friends before and they just don't produce the same results

Summary: Would recommend them over any other straighteners

yeh Dax Wax is great...admittedly it takes a couple of washes to get it out but if you apply it in moderation then you are onto a winner! - especially for big nights out in inevitably hot and sweaty clubs...it prevents your hair from flopping and reverting back to its original wavy state!

I've never tried Dax Wax - I always thought that was for old men...

GHDs definitely rock - I've even converted my sister onto the mini ones now. They're excellent.
