Advantages: Work really well, sleep mode, 3 products, bag and dvd with it, Easy to use

Disadvantages: Pricey, damages hair

My GHD's are the 3rd pair of straightners i have ever had. I actually have the IV ghd's which are the next upgrade from MK4. Before them i had a pair of Babyliss straightners. I was recommended them by a friend and i had no idea what to buy at the time. They were ok-ish on my thick, unruly hair but i had to admit i was looking for something better so when they packed up i wasn't as upset as i should have been.

Wanting these the whole timei had my mum buy them me for christmas (2008). Now at £114 including 3 products (lower VAT) I thought it was kinda pricey but i have been generally led to believe that the more expensive something is, the better quality of the product. So i ordered and was pleased to find it was free Uk delivery first class.

Well first of all only 2 of the products arrived and no straightners. This was slightly worrying so we called the helpline. They told us that the product and the straightners were not in stock but we would get everything else by Friday (3 days after). The Thursday came and we recieved the other product and then Friday came and so did the straightners. I found this a silly experience as they could have sent those 2 items together.

After waiting till Christmas day to look at it, i set about looking at everything. The straightners came in a black box with the GHD logo, design and writing: "The ghd IV styler is all you'll ever need to create perfect curls, movement, volume and straight, thanks to it's advanced technology and smart features." It also has information about the new features in lots of different languages, including English, on the back. I thought the box was a bit of a waste of packaging but it is VERY attractive and sleek looking, you could possible use it again as it is sturdy, and it has everything you need on it.

The products came with a purple Makeup bag which has a paisley pattern on it. This is very attractive and very good quality as i use to for carrying my straightners and hairproducts when i go away.In with the straightners is a dvd and a product guide. I found the DVD most helpful as it shows you how to get the best out of your straightners.

The straightners themselves work very well. They make my hair perfectly straight in half as much time as the babyliss straightners, and with less static. They heat up quickly (60 seconds!) so you don't have to wait for them to heat up. They have a functions which turns them off every 1/2 hour which is good so they don't overheat and if you accidentally leave them on at home your house won't se on fire! Only thing is i would not use them everyday as they get so hot it damages your hair a lot. Altogether a great product that hasn't lost it's power over the time i have had them so far.

Summary: Great for people who like their hair to look proffessional at home, worth the money
