I bought my GHDs after spending months using and pining after a friends set, and decided to treat myself one birthday. At £90, these were definitely a long term investment, but if they live up to their famous reputation then they'll be well worth it.

A round barrel is styled to make it simple to create curls, waves and flicks with your straghteners, though sadly i've never been able to produce these! However, their ability to make hair pokerstraight, smooth and shiny is undisputable, and the rounded edges mean that it is simple to create soft flicked layers.

The GHD straighteners are full of modern technology - a built-in sleep mode is a priceless safety feature, switching unattended stylers off after 30 minutes. Automatically controlled temperature and quick heating-up mean that there's no need to wait to style your hair, or fiddle about with heat settings. Advanced ceramic heaters and aluminium plates are the perfect styling surface, straightening hair without any static, snagging or redoing to neaten it all up.

The brand name alone provides a sense of security in the products performance, and the straighteners each come with a full instruction manual and DVD showing exactly how to create different types of looks, in a luxurious looking box. These hair stylers are the optimum branded product, a little pricey but for good reason.
