Advantages: Tames frizzy hair

Disadvantages: Thins the hair and can damage the shaft of the hair

GHD straighteners are thought to be the best and are readily available in many major salons in the country. I have a natural wave in my hair, which i abhor, and about 8 years ago, started to use straightners with the first ever ghd's on the market. My hair is very fine and i hate to say it but i find that the straightners have thinned my hair. They heat up very fast and give a lovely smooth finish, but they do weaken the hair shaft and result in thinning, especially if used alot.

GHD's are not designed for every day use because heat is not good for anyones hair, but they have got me out of many a bad hair day. They are very simple to use and the red light flickers until they reach the correct temprature and then it makes a noise to let you know they have reached the desired temperature. They come with a cloth holder which is handy when taking them on holiday. The ceramic plates don't seem to get dirty either, but if you use alot of hairspray then give them a quick wipe before switching them on.

They certainly tame the frizz but always use them with a good protective spray on your hair that is designed for use with straighteners

Summary: Great for nights out but not for every day use
