Advantages: Great performance and reliability
Disadvantages: The price - but worth every penny
Ah! GHD's - the saviour for women everywhere. It has came to a point that I don't think I know any woman who either doesn't already own a pair themselves or at least borrowed a pair from a Friend.
GHD's have been going for quite a few years now. I remember my first encounter at a Friend's house about 7 or 8 years ago and couldn't believe how amazing this "new device" was. At that point I was using the old Bablysis Shot of Steam (remember them anyone?!) and these new straightners appeared to work like magic!
Of course that made me want my own pair which I got that Christmas which obviously came at a price - around £120 if I remember correctly.
They were fantastic and I used them every day - which technically, you shouldn't really do, but we do, don't we?! That was until one evening, while doing my friends hair, they went on fire. Yes, actual fire. These were indeed - as I later found out - the "faulty batch" and the connection at the bottom and the GHD wire eventually fused and went alight. This then resulted in my friend having a flame shoot up her head and leaving singed hair everywhere. Not funny at the time obviously, but after reading that I had to laugh as we must have looked a right sight between us!
Thankfully, GHD sent me out a new pair straight away for free and some GHD goodies to go with it. Probably to stop us going to the press. Oh well.....
Anyway! Back the GHDs themselves.
They really are an excellent product - when you slide them down your hair , the difference is noticable in seconds. Not only that, your hair feels so soft and silky that you start believing that it can't possibly be your hair.
Beware however! Over usage of them will undoubtably cause numerous split ends and hair damage therefore, make sure you use a heat protector to help stop some of this happening. Let's face it, you could lash a whole bottle of it on and you're still going to do some damage to your hair using them.
Yes, they are expensive but we all know that really, there's no other product out there that does it better.
If it's going enough for Celebs, then it's good enough for me.
In each book you get a little booklet telling you all about your GHDs and also a CD-Rom which I myself, haven't played.
For the best price, have a look on the Internet but only buy from an offical retailer as there are many fakes out there and you don't want to waste your money!
