Advantages: super sleek hair that looks healthy

Disadvantages: very hot!

Sometimes, it's nice to have a change. Having wavy hair for all my life, I thought it would be time to see what straight hair did for me. And that's where ghds come in. They were really the first of its kind to do the job properly. Cermamic plates that were impossibly hot (ouch btw) got my hair from frizzy and wavy to sleek and straight within 20 minutes.

Not only was my hair styled the way I want it, it looked healthy and shiny too. And while the ghds aren't the cheapest things in the world (£90), you certainly get your use out of them.

However, there are some drawbacks to consider. The moment I go out the house and the rain comes on, my hair is ruined. Doesn't matter if I'm under a brolly or have my hood up, it still gets ruined. So the time and money you spent on getting your hair right sometimes isn't worth it cause you look rubbish at the first sign of dampness. And woe betide you if you burn yourself - I have burned my fingers and have heard some quite horrific stories about people trying to clamp their hair and clamping their ear instead. But if you're careful then you'll be fine.

After all these years, these are still the best on the market and I wouldn't consider buying any other make.
