Advantages: Straighten any kind of hair, Heat up fast

Disadvantages: Expensive, Are easily broken if dropped, Are dangerous if faulty

I got given the GHD ceramic straightners as a present from my boyfriend for christmas. They were what i'd always wanted because i have really thick curly hair and no other straightners would allow me to wear my hair down 'curl free'.
My hairdresser always seemed to put me off them telling me that 50% of these straightners had been sent back due to them breaking in one way or another but i always thought to myself that because i took so much care over them that nothing would happen to mine. Unfortunetly exactly two months after owning them things took a turn for the worse - i was using them like usual one morning then all of a sudden the straightners blew up and there was sparks coming from the bottom of the straightners...luckily i wasn't holding the bottom of them as there was live wires hanging out of them and i could have been shocked. I was very upset that after ONLY two months of buying these for £92.00 that this could have happened.
The salon that i bought them from have replaced them for me but i will always remember to never hol them at the bottom whilst they are on.
