Advantages: stay hot, very easy to use, don't dry put hair

Disadvantages: expensive, take some getting used to, take care, you can easily burn yourself

My first encounter with a pair of GHD's was about a year ago. I was at one of my friends houses and we were getting ready to go out. I have very frizzy, wavy hair so she suggested i straighten it. I told her it would be a waste of time as i already had the babyliss shot of steam straighteners and they didn't work. This is when she told me that she had special ceramic straighteners so, while still doubting this would work, i let her straighten my hair. There was no mirror in the room so when i saw the finished result i nearly fell over. My hair was poker straight and looked absolutly perfect. Now at the time i didn't actually know these straighteners were called GHD's. The next day when i got home i went straight on the internet and looked for ceramic straighteners. The idiot i am it did not occur to me to ask my friend what brand hers were. I went on salonlines.com and saw the GHD's for £89! They sounded good so but i wasn't prepared to pay that much so instead i settled for some Me2 stik ceramic straighteners. Two days later they arrived and i set them up feeling very excited about having my hair straight again. Well let me tell you the results didn't even come close. My hair was straight in the middle but the roots and ends were all over the place and still looked frizzy. My hair felt dry and the straighteners had taken about five minutes to heat up properly, also when the weather was even slightly damp my hair returned to it's normal state.
Thinking i had learn't my mistake i saved up some more money and tried again the next month. This time i bought a pair of the hairtools thermo straighteners. These were much better but i still had some of the same problems as before. I also found that if you drop them they tend to break.
Having had quite enough hassle i decided to call my friend and find out what brand her straighteners were. She informed me that they were the GHD's and cost about £80- £100! Now since i am on
ly seventeen and with a part time job you can imagine how dissapointed i felt hearing this. But i two months later i had saved up enough money to buy a pair of GHD's. I bought them from ghdceramics.co.uk at £89 including a free thermal dense spray to protect my hair from the extreme heat. They heat up in five second and are amazingly good. They straighten my hair without any flaws every time and th i=only thing i regret is not buying them sooner. The only other thing i would advise is that you buy your straighteners from a hairdressers or the shop itselft. I ordered all three of my straighteners from the internet and 2/3 times i had to chase the order up beause it wasn't deliverd.

great to know that the ghd's do the job better than the other brands otherwise, i'd have been angry not going for a cheaper pair. sorry you had to be the one to test the crap brands!
